Ok so then... the spinning top is his character's test to know if he is dreaming or not. Each time he ran his test in the past, he looked at the top very closely. This time, he spins the top and walks away to his kids, while the camera zooms in to the spinning top and then suddenly, cut to black, just a microsecond after the top begins to wobble. Right? So then, what actually happened?

Just like inception, Nolan lets the audience step right off the emotional cliff, microseconds before it cuts to black, with the big reveal (on the left hand side of the screen) - did you see it?
