The Dolphins will be back. In the meantime, they are still the first team and still the only one to go undefeated.

The Pats are actually the 4th team to go undefeated in the regular season.
The Bears did it twice but lost the superbowl both times. The reason most people don't know that is that nobody talks about them....BECAUSE they didn't win the superbowl.
Jacksonville is the kind of team that can really give the Pats problems and the Colts will have Harrison back in the playoffs.....so this thing is far from over.
While it remains to be seen if New England can make it to the Superbowl and win they did have an amazing season. Brady throws 50 TD passes, Moss catches 23 TD passes (Rice's previous record of 22 was in a strike shortened 12 game season, amazing) and they set the NFL record for most points scored.
However, they were almost beaten by the Colts and Ravens. It should be an entertaining playoffs.
In all fairness, how tough was their schedule though?
half their schedule was sub 500 teams, and 6 bargain basement teams They got the jets, bills and fish twice, cinci, philly and almost lost to baltimore
They only played two truly tough teams, Dallas and Indy, and mind you they did take advantage when both teams handed them the game... but they certainly weren't convincing wins...
They nearly lost to every half decent team they played short of Pittsburgh...
I personally think they're no better than Indy, GB or Dallas...
So, all that being said, despite what Collinsworth said last night, This years Pats team is far from the "Best team I've ever seen"
And yes, it is absolutely meaningless if you can sweep the season if you dont sweep the 'offs.
I would be terribly surprised if they go all the way, as I don't think they stand a chance to beat Indy again.
'Nuff said.
and so were shag carpeting, the Carpenters, the Love Boat and the Chrysler Cordoba with rich Corinthian leather! what's your point!?!?
What's my point?
No real point, just remembering the good ole days as all of my family are hardcore Dolphin fans and the football parties we had back then were off the hook. A few of the players would even come over afterwards.
My Grandma and my Cousin are ate up with Dolphin Fever. My cousin still goes to just about every game, even most of the away games.
So what's your point? Those people you mention are legends and always will be. Way more so than you will ever be.

Hey, I'm with you! This ain't your father's Oldsmobile; this is the 21st Century, the era of the greatest team in the milky way galaxy, the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS!
Christ I would have been locked up in a straight jacket for saying this when I was growing up in New England, Ha, ha, ha. It's been a long ride. Who would have ever thought...

Just because you've never heard about it (and apparently don't know how to do a google search) doesn't mean it didn't happen.
1934 and 1942. The Bears were undefeated and lost the championship game to the Giants and the Redskins respectively.
That's why it was (and still is) such a big deal when the Dolphins went undefeated in 1972. They were the only team to go undefeated throughout the entire regular season AND the playoffs.
It wasn't superbowl's. It was championships before superbowls were invented in like the 40's or something, before face masks
They didn't call it the superbowl but it was still the same thing. Just because some marketing guys later on decided superbowl was a cooler name than championship game doesn't make those games any less significant.

I grew up in Florida, so I was a huge dolphin fan when I was younger. The 72 Dolphins that entire season, of only 14 games mind you, played teams that had a combined winning percentage of something like .345. They also barely won a few of those games by just a few points. I'm not saying they weren't a good team, I'm saying that they couldn't have went undefeated in today's NFL with 16 games.
Also the reason the Bears aren't rarely mentioned about their undefeated seasons is because they only played like 10 games a season or something back then. LOTS of teams have started their seasons better than 10-0 before, so thats not really a huge feat.
Jason Forrest is a scammer. Pay me my 15k bitch. http://www.jason-forrest.com/
K-Man, Media and Moses are also scammers

The Pats are in the weakest division in football, and they barely won a few of their games as well. We can argue about stuff like that all day but it doesn't make a difference.
Not true about the Bears, they won 11 games and 13 games respectively. The Dolphins regular season win total in their undefeated season was 14.
The reason the Bears are never talked about and the Dolphins are always talked about is because the Bears lost the championship game and the Dolphins won it.
The Pats went undefeated during the regular season, but if they lose in the playoffs then they'll just be a historical footnote.

The Bears LOST one! Lost! And they won one crummy superbowl. The Patriots won three and are threatening for four. Brady holds all the records now.
The Bears please, give me a break! What was there last stand? Oh, yeah, humiliation in the Superbowl last year, that's right! What a joke. There weren't even any other teams in the league that year. The closest thing to a real time was the Rams. Holy Shit, the bears.
The wonder they call it the windy city. The wind blew and the shit flew!
Did you ever thing that maybe the Patriots are in the weakest division because everyone has to play the Patriots twice a year. That's two demoralizing
