Yup, when I was in 6th form (17-18 yrs for non UK people), my physics project was to come up with something useful for society... my porject detailed a car sensor (front) that worked on sonar and worked for two purposes - primary purpose was to judge the distance between your car and the car in front and adjust your speed to maintain a safe driving distance and the second was to aid in parking based on the same physics/concept
.
I got a 1st in the marking and it was back in 1987. My A-level books that I have stored in the loft prove prior knowledge if I could ever be arsed to sue mercedes (I think that marketed this idea in 92 or thereabouts).
Voila.
Apart from that, I am always inventing, like today a way to get the most crooked christmas tree on earth to stand vertical.
It is now vertical and beautiful in my lounge.
And the kids love it.

Only some terms for YouTube videos, I posted them up in 2007/2008 for some traffic, they got millions of views, now the terms I've used are very common...but nobody would ever believe it

Must be thinking of someone/something else...the Pluto Platter, as it was originally called, has been around quite awhile, and the inventor passed away a few years ago.

In High School, I was a member of the Ultimate Frisbee Team (our team name was GOOFF...Grand Order of Frisbee Flyers).

A friend of my fathers invented a flashing lolly pop stick. Very high in safety, it was even shown on "Tomorrows world". However, it was not licensed & the government didn't take it up. I reckon many accidents would have been saved over the years considering school children leave the UK in the dark through the winter months

I invented the cellphone dildo about ten years ago... was interviewed on Opie and Anthony.. had it featured on the Graham Norton show etc.. Didn't make a lot of money though, I produced it locally instead of in china so it was far too expensive to sucessfully sell wholesale. Have several other more respectable inventions.Comment
