I just couldn't resist chiming in...

    1. The world is about money, oil and power. Isn't that strange.
    2. Get in the way of that and you are shit out of luck
    3. Idealism looks great on paper, I doubt you would be eager to wait in line for gas...and the Arabs definately want to insure that we continue buying it and more.

Pop your head out your ass, this isn't some esoteric fucking college debate, it about money. The world is about money whether anyone likes it or not. Look at all the stupid ass tricks webmaster play on each other to earn that extra sign up.

Having been through one "conflict", rest assured that when you get a whole bunch of guys and equipment together, and all the equipment is designed to kill people, some of the wrong people are gonna get killed. Personally, if I was under constant surveillance I wouldn't start shooting guns in the air...I am sure that lit up some ones infrared monitor and brought the wrath of C-130 gunships on them. It's a war and I find it hard to believe that anyone could be so stupid.

Then again, these Afgans ain't Charlie. That is a fact, too.
The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his. -George Patton

            Both numbers are incorrect.

If you or anyone else believes that we attacked our own country, you need a brain check.

It is a known fact that we and our allies have been interested in a pipeline thru Afganistan, for many years. The terrorists provided us with good cause, so now, at some future point in time there will be a pipeline.

            Nothing strange about it.

Afganistan is a hot zone. War is, and always has been, an imperfect dirty affair, and people die.

True. War has to be experienced to even have a clue. Movies and games don't provide a real clue.

                                    Sorry 4000 dead at wtc.

and kill 1000"s of afgans cause some of the Taliban live there?

Did you know the Taliban Destroyed all herion crops in afgan
thereby reducing the worlds herion supply by 90%.

That was until the Usa Came in and gave 43 million dollars
to all of the herion farmers who went out of business... and told
them to hang tight... shortly after the Usa Attacks..
Then suddenly the herion farmers are back in full swing, not only
that! They are protected by american soldiers!

43 million dollars to herion farmers in afgan?

What happened to the war on drugs the usa declared?

Ohh thats only a show for the public in usa.

I will look it over, but as I recall, the number of combat fatalities in the Gulf War was not even 165, let alone 165 killed by friendly fire. As I recall there were more accidental deaths during strength building then there were combat deaths. The total number of deaths may indeed exceed 300.

As for the 60,000 combat deaths in Vietnam I will let that pass, because it is close enough to the actual count. By the way the actual count exceeds 60,000 because the military usually refers to combat related deaths, when providing a body count. Accidental deaths are separated out as are deaths from sickness.

As for the 40% friendly fire number, I served three tours as a combatant and from personell experience and from word of mouth I can tell you that this number is not anywhere close to being accurate, as it applies to the loss of our military personell.

As I stated I will look the link over and may get back to this.

                                          Captain Canada:

I looked over the link you provided. It appears to me that the site is putting out mis-information for whatever their reason.

I did a quick search this morning and came up with this link about the Gulf War.

                                          http://www.cryan.com/war/

"The United States suffered 148 killed in action, 458 wounded, 121 killed in nonhostile actions and 11 female combat deaths."

Some of the above were friendly fire casualties, but the site doesn't provided a percentage, but in the case of the Gulf War, the percentage was to high for the number of combat casualities.

I do not need to do any research on Vietnam for me to know that the 39% number of friendly fire casualties is way to high.

I was a professional soldier for more than thirty years and I served three tours in Vietnam as a combatant. I know from personel experience as well as by word of mouth, that 39% would be too high.

Unfortunately, in every war friendly fire represents a certain percentage of combat casualties (sometimes intentionally as well as unintentionally).

Bush blamed Bin Laden but has never offered any proof saying it?s a "secret". Isn't that strange?

Taliban offered to negotiate to turn over Bin Laden if we showed them some proof. We refused; we bombed. Isn't that strange?
Yet there is undeniable proof that Bin Laden was involved (I refer to the video evidence of Bin Laden saying he didn't think the WTC would actually fall over once hit by the planes..)

                                            Isn't that strange? Stupid fuck.
