The lights on "The Square" in my little town:
They still call it the square though for some unknown reason they made it into a traffic circle several years ago. About twice a year they have to write an article in the paper on how to navigate a traffic circle

I'm an Australian living semi-permanently in Paris.
I say 'semi' permanently, as there are a few strange nuances to France.
Getting a 'carte de sejour' [Essentially, a work / living card] is routine if you're studying or employed in France, but France does not recognise, or easily recognise the 'self-employed' situation, and thus getting residancy based off that becomes difficult.
It took me a few months to get a visa, like most long stay visas, then I packed a suitcase and arrived. Depending on where you are and how old you are, getting a 12 month with work visa can be a 5 day affair or a 6 month affair.
Alternatively, if you travel often, or are willing to travel to a non-schengen country every 3 months, you can simply renew your tourist visa and not have any concerns or worries.Comment
