    Anyone here build their own router/firewall box?

    I'm leaning toward pfSense but have heard good things about smoothwall express as well.

      7 or 8 years ago I built one using an older computer and IPcop. It worked out fairly well and was more solid than any of the consumer routers available at the time. I've since switched back to using a normal router but I'd consider doing it again.

            Before walmart sold routers I had a pentium 166 running Slackware 4 and an 8 port hub as my router, worked pretty solid and I still have the hub.
