    Backlink Checker - SEO

So what do you guys use for checking if people keep links on their sites?

I need something I can use to manage link trades and link purchases.
Ideally I want it to just alert me if someone takes my link down etc.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

install LinkEx on your domain in a directory not visible for public and use it just for checking recip links.

Unfortunately I don't involve myself in all the pointless threads on GFY to get a lot of the references, I'm here for the occasional business transaction that happens hehe.

Not to be cynical... but if you deal with trustworthy sites and reputable people / site owners, you shouldn't ever even need to babysit links you are exchanging or buying.

That said, I readily admit that it is getting more and more difficult to find honest site owners anymore.

That's the stance we've always taken in the past, but I want to safeguard our actions rather than trust people. Is naive to think that with a large link campaign it can be manually checked or just 'trusted' which of course is unfortunate, but thats from my experience even with people I thought and came across trustworthy.

Fiddler, one workaropund type option that you could control is a script called Links Organizer. Just add your site(s) to it and then all of your trades, link exchanges and or purchased links.

A cron job will check all links for you, give you the PR's of the links coming back to you, and provide a report detailing which links are redirecting, 404, any using nofollow, etc. It's a pretty nice script at a very affordable price point.
