    It it racist to say "I'M WHITE AND I'M PROUD!"?

    I'm watching BET AWARDS 2007 on MTV BASE (running in the backgroud)

    It's some kind of black music awards show (hiphop rnb etc)

    What i caught my attention is when the show host (big fat black lady) put her fist in the air and urged the audience to chant "I'M BLACK AND I'M PROUD"

    I'm pretty sure if a white person did something like that, the black would raise such a stink that we'd never hear the end of it.

When I hear that I think the person really is saying "I'm not ashamed to be black" and that's cos black-haters probably tried their best for years to put it in their heads that they should be ashamed of their skin color. So the person probably just trying a confidence-building slogan "I'm black and I'm proud".

                                                                                                                              Can't say "I'm white and I'm proud" cos it has already been assumed by default. When you put it in context one would only say that when he's the minority and not so confident or trying to dominate other skin colors
