mine has a LOT of query caching in place to help it handle high traffic considerably better than other scripts.

ok, a few things about TEVS.
- It doesn't convert videos to flv on the fly or any other format for that matter (TEVS doesn' use ffmpeg etc).
- You can upload flv files or remote hosted flv, mpg, wmv, flash embed or just standard html, giving you the option to put HTML code where the video would go, perfect if you want to replace with advert or picture.
- Unlimtied sponsors/unlimited adverts per sponsor

Tube scripts are still evolving, so it may be too early for a legit answer to that question.
I would like to say one thing though :
A lot of "tube scripts" have popped up in a hurry with no beta testing whatsoever.
Get out the bug spray and batten down the hatches when you load some of those scripts onto your server.

This is a GREAT answer. There simply isn't a clear winner at this point. You have to make your decision on what script best fits your needs and if something doesn't fit ALL of your needs either plan on hiring somebody to customize it OR buy something like my system that is RAPIDLY being developed.
If you want a traditional tube Social Media is the best one that I've found however there's quite a bit that it lacks in the adult market. Its also a resource hog but if you can afford the license fee you can probably afford a pretty decent server BUT if you get really big this just keeps getting harder.
If my script doesn't quite fit what you need just hit me with some things you want to see added and wait a couple of weeks. For quite a while I was building just a traditional tube type system but my next update I am adding a lot of plug/link trading tools and bringing in some more adult specific features. (not going to talk about them because I'd hate for you to get pissed if I have to leave it out of this release)
If you can deal with lacking alot of the user related tools compared to social media but want something that won't kill your server give mine a try. Its not like its expensive.-- QUOTE ME IT MAKES ME FEEL SPECIAL --Comment

I don't get why anyone looks for these scripts to begin with, if you have a vision of something you want, just develop it. There's lots of programmers for hire, and if you give them proper direction you'll end up with a much better product.Comment

The answer from the phpMotion creator is that he is Christian and originally
wrote the script for christian music video sharing site.
He was however understanding and basically said he's not about to go stop
anyone from doing whatever, just he never intended that and it bugs him a lil
I guess.
Then deleted my posts with the mod :-)
edit: also note there is no EULA or TOS for his script, he's pretty much just
sharing it with the world at the end of the day.

I used Alstrasoft's tube script when I created Footfetishtube.com and when I sold it in October it was averaging aroung 100,000 video views a day and never crashed etc.
No I'm not an affiliate nor work for them either. I'm just lending some hard cold facts instead of a lot of theories...which is pretty much what I see here!

The current release does NOT have stock support for video ad rotations but it is planned. This is something you can hardcode into the embedding code though if you say only have 1. Take a close look at the various config settings for this. I'm starting to work on using a config.xml file which is new in this last release of the player and I haven't had a chance to start using yet.
On the admin end you can enter a files location and it can grab it from the remote server. The user end doesn't have this currently. I've always thought of it as a security risk but its been requested enough to put it in.
Batch adding of video's: if you can get your hands on a specially formatted .xml file you can easily add tons of video's. Currently I have an archive of clips that are 60 seconds and less that are hosted on my server and can be added for quick filler content. Theres around 1400 currently in the DB. Yeah my script is currently a little rough but I'm refining it as fast as I can but I keep tacking on more features which cause more bugs. I've kept my price at $30 through the holidays at least because to be honest with you my script is a little rougher than I personally like. My target is to have all the features of those $300 scripts but I released not much over a month ago and have added features at a pretty insane rate. Every confirmed bug report other than some cosmetics I've had fixed with 24 hours! I had a bug report come in earlier today that I had fixed and uploaded to the guys server 2 hours after the ticket was started. For the people who didn't start a ticket the bug fix came out with the next update Which is on average weekly right now.
If you want something that is early enough in development that you can help SCULPT it if you have alot of ideas you'll have a hard time finding a better deal than $30 to basically have a coding slave working his ass off to add requested features. I can name 3 different scripts that are at least $300 but not a single one from what I've read has ANY caching involved outside of template caching. My goal here is to catch up to those guys in features but caching every query possible so we can serve 100k views a day without spending the cash on insanely large servers.
If you want a badass tube script I've said a bunch of times around this forum and others that I LOVE what social media does. If you have the money to buy the script then I'm sure you can afford to keep tossing server power at it.
