    Anyone been to Costa Rica?

Has anyone been to Costa Rica? I'm planning my honeymoon and Costa Rica is where I think we're heading. Doing 4 days in the rain forest hotels for the adventure type stuff (zip-lines, bridge walks, volcano's, etc) and then 6 days in an all inclusive resort type spot.

Any feedback on a vaca like this?

Don't waste any time in San Jose.... everything else is great, but that city is, well.... not great.

    Have fun!

Costa Rica is great for trying out green tourism, try Lapa Rios in Osa Peninsula

          Lapa Rios

"Set in a private nature reserve spread over 1,000 acres of Central America's last remaining lowland tropical rainforest in Costa Rica, Lapa Rios Eco Lodge overlooks the pristine point where the Golfo Dulce meets the wild Pacific Ocean, a destination matching everyone's idea of paradise."

The owners are great, everything is super green, and the views will just stop your brain.

You have to get up to Monteverde and check out the cloud forest. Also, the Arenal volcano is beautiful and is always erupting. I don't know how you are planning to get around, but we rent 4x4s and slowly crisscross from the Carribean side to the Pacific side and back - that way you see the unique cultures of each and the beauty of the jungles and mountains on the interior of the country. Ticos are some of the friendliest people in the world. Just take your time and like someone else said - get out of San Jose as quickly as possible.

I think 4 days in the rainforest is a bit much, but that's just me. I get bored at Arenal after an afternoon...

As for the beach, all inclusives are nice, but I would personally have more fun hitting 1-2 beach towns and staying in normal hotels and exploring.

Get out of San Jose as fast as possible. Check out Playa Hermosa, Manuel Antonio, Volcan Arenal - Tabacon Hot Spings, definitely do some canopy tours, white water rafting.

Costa Rica is one of my favorite places in the world. I rent a car and drive all over the place, but watch out for the craters in the road. Get a 4 x 4 for sure.

                        Enjoy yourself!!

I like the central part (mountains and junge) and didn't find the beaches anything special (but was there after being on Seychelles, Maldives, Mauritius and many more).

I'm from Vancouver but I live in Costa Rica. What you plan on doing sounds pretty good the 4 days @ the volcano and then another 6 doing all inclusive. There was built recently a RIU in Guanacaste.. its a pretty nice all inclusive hotel.

PM me if you have any questions..
