If Romney loses I can see him running again, but it would depend on how things go over the next four years. If things go well and Obama is popular when he leaves office and a big name democrat like Hilary runs, he might not. If things don't go well he may run on the "See, I told you that you should have picked me" platform.
If Romney wins we will likely see gridlock. The democrats are likely going to hold the senate and the republicans are likely going to hold house and I was reading not too long ago about how most of the moderates from both parties are gone so it will be a congress that is very divided. The democrats will blame the republicans for sabotaging Obama and will want to return the favor and I won't be shocked to see Hilary Vs Romney in four years.Comment

I'm actually curious - has anyone who has won the nomination and lost the general election ever tried running again? I'm sure it probably happens but it hasn't in my lifetime which is why I'm curious. It seems funny to me that someone like Romney who has run before but LOST the nomination would run again, especially ultimately against the same person on the other side. The daily show and the Colbert report were epic during the bush years, though the have kept it up due to general conservative hypocrisy and incompetence.

Or the night after the second debate when Obama finally woke up and Matthews declared it was the greatest debate performance in history!
