Most ppl use a Twitter handle that disguises their identity...just like on a forum ;) @BigBoobLover @pornPerv69 ....shit like that.
As for people following adult (#NSFW) Twitter accounts...well just depends on who you are and what you Tweet about. For instance there are many porn stars that have following of 250k ...@Pornhub is around 160k followers ... Streamate is around 20k followers...
I have used Twitter since I started my first porn blog Puffy Chicks (bbw niche) and I am nearing 6000 faithful followers.
If you can afford it, you can outsource your social media presence which I actually do for mainstream companies....or you can manage it all your self using tools like Hootsuite or Tweetdeck.Comment

Yes it's possible, more so on solo model sites, www.paigeturnah.com has got to nearly 30k followers in not very long at all, months only.

One of my porn promotion accounts has 21,000 followers...another has 13,000...
Better than sending an email blast and getting bitched at for spam.
My primary on with my producer name has about 4,000 and also gets a lot of porn followers, as well as industry people.
So, yeah...I'd say it's a large following, in all 3 cases.

Especially if you have blogs, there is no reason to not have Twitter.
It's easy to set up. If you have a lot, use throwaway emails with Yahoo or similar, numbering them and documenting them if needed.
Use Feedburner to auto post along with a few other things if you use RSS.
Twitter profiles are SEO friendly.

Why is getting people that are not interested in your product or service to follow you a good thing to do?
It's pointless. And the people posting here really show how little they understand social media. It's not about numbers. I'd prefer to have 100 people follow an account that cared about the content than 1000 GFY cocksuckers that are desperate to get a follow back.Comment

I disagree. Making friends (they follow you/you follow them) and retweeting each others Tweets can grow your rev exponentially.
Also, a long lasting trend on Twitter are the "Follow Friday" Tweets. I highly recommend participating in this even if it sounds like the dumbest bullshit you've ever heard of. Basically every Friday people send out Tweets with the hashtag #FF attached to the Tweet. This is recommending to all of their followers that they should follow whoever is mentioned in the Tweet. It is reserved for Friday to limit users constantly telling their followers to follow random people. If you are being mentioned in a #FF Tweet it is recommended that you follow all the other accounts listed and then ReTweet the post. I generally gain 50+ followers every Friday by playing this mindless game ;)
