I wouldn't sweat it over PR. If the authority site linked you 3 days after google update, you would notice immediate boost in SERP and would get increased google traffic right away. No one but Google knows for certain, but I have seen a lot of articles and some research that suggests this is correct.
The PR on your search bar is a "historical" rank, based on a few months or so of prior Google work, under this scenario.
The actual PR seems to shift as the SE's do their thing, and the search bar ranking is only updated periodically to reflect this. By the time google does its recalculation, things have been set in stone, then it starts over.Comment
