In a barrel it will be stored better and is going to be used quicker too I expect - probably has less added preserving chemicals. Also being poured from a tap into a glass will affect how it tastes with the main part of taste being your sense of smell.↑ see post ↑

and I have a lot of experience with tasting the same brews both straight from the brewer and bottled. Sometimes draft beer sold at a gastropub will taste different that from the brewery/brewpub because the temperature and/or gas pressure will be off.Comment
