It started showing "read-only filesystem" errors over cmd line, rebooted the box, never came back, asked colo techs, they told me the server was not seeing the drive anymore. It was a Seagate SATA 250GB ...<sig spot goes here>Comment

yeah sure thats why I am RHCE and work for one of the biggest server management companies in USA, managing over 500 servers myself, while you are a piece of shit trying to make a few bucks installing wordpress modulesEvidently, you suck at the former.
the drive failed because it was faulty, and FYI I run smartctl and badblocks every week and they never showed anything wrong
I know what that is, I rebooted forcing fsck "shutdown -rF now" (take note of the command in case you ever need it damn fucking idiot) but showed a ton of errors and after another reboot the disk was deadIt's called 'fsck' you fucking retard.
Now that you probably googled for all those weird commands come back tomorrow for more linux classes stupid motherfucker

Very easy.......you can't prevent failing hardware....but if it's your own server
you make sure to use a raid 1 setup which uses 2 hdd's and mirrors the data.
1 drive fails....the server keeps running you swap the faulty drive the raid
rebuilds all without a reboot or single second of downtime......for the overly
paranoid amongst us.....you can use raid 5 + 1 which uses 3 hdd's.
I guess I'm the one laughing at you now for getting a cheapass the planet
shit server where half the os was already whiped off before you came to me
and you tried blaming me for it......
