Before anyone berates me for this (yeah, right) I should say that this post is a daydream, not anything serious. I know that, as a Dream Job, nobody is going to be lining up saying "Gosh, we want someone for exactly that! Here's a check!" ;)
So, here's the dream job I keep thinking of... To get it off my chest, if you will...
I'd love to get paid 5 figures a year to be a "remote in-house" photographer... Someone who shoots for a large outfit, but works from home. The idea would be that I get paid to do X sets a month, raises or lack thereof being (and keeping the job, of course) determined by how well the photos go. Expense account, so that the employer pays the models, pays for some equipment, etc. and my salary is actually a salary.
So every month I do my shoots, and the employer get the rights. (I'd like some rights myself, to have a portfolio, and to feel like a photographer... Be able to make a book or a gallery show some day.) I'd shoot some of my own style, plus stuff the employer needs. I get paid a monthly salary, and have a company CC / checkbook to pay for certain expenses with. I get to stay here and continue my education, they get some interesting content.
Why this job? Because sometimes I get sick of trying to get rich on my own, and would be thrilled just to get by. Self-employment has a lot of opportunities, but also a lot of hassle! There, that's my dream. Sometimes it helps to get overly optimistic ideas out of your head. ;)
So, in the spirit of sharing... What is your dream job? Preferably stuff that is only as unrealistic as this, not like "a million a month to jerk off" or whatnot. ;)
