I just got my first computer with Vista... I think I prefer XP, but it's probably a matter of time until I get used to Vista.

Vista will be great once the public beta testing is over. It really will be a slick OS, till then not so much.
I regretted upgrading from XP, lost tons of functionality and now get constant issues, errors and notifications of stuff not working properly.

I've got 2 setups running vista now, and both run smoothly... Using 32 bit on one and 64 on another. Still have another machine primarily on XP, and tbh with enough ram and decent hardware you shouldn't experience any problems with vista, just a bit of a learning curve.

Once the software programmers get things all compatible it'll be great as well. It's not all MS's fault. There are at 3 programs I use on a daily basis that I had to go into the settings and run as XP SP2, or they just plain won't work. Though MS doesn't make this little tidbit of info very obvious, it just tells me my shit won't work. (Why they couldn't have it automatically do that I don't know. It'd save a lot of headaches and people bitching.)
Really it is a good OS just not baked enough.

I dont understand people who dont like vista , unless you use apps that are still not compatible from 3rd party's. I had it in dual boot with XP- Xpower and Vista , and vista runs better than them all , everythng is faster, especially internet.
I use wireless and when im on XP i have 3 bars of signal , on Xpower same thing. On vista Full signal! Everything operates perfectly for me , Ready boost works great , voice command aswell. The only thing that is a little annoying is all the confirmations of install , but this can be shut off if it bothers you that much.
For me I will never go back to XPComment

I like Vista when it runs on your hardware configuration. I've had problems with some graphics cards and Vista. When you got the right hardware configuration that works, it is great IMO.Comment

I sent my HP laptop back to HP for a warrenty repair and the fucking LOST my lapotp
after 2 and a half months of fighting them to replace it the replace it with a Vista machine
I bought that XP machine right before the vista changeover because i didnt want a vista machine and now I know why

Despite having 2 computers with Vista and 0 with XP, I much prefer XP. For me it's not bugs or memory problems that are to blame, Vista is just so much slower than XP at everything.
Just as an example, shutting down Vista can take up to 45 seconds or even more when it takes 10 secs in XP. Compare the number of processes running in a clean Vista install compared to a clean XP SP2 and the number is doubled.
Another thing is that explorer (when browsing and handling files) behaviour has changed and is much less practical than XP.
All in all besides the fancy graphics and everything, it seems more like a step backwards than forwards when it comes to usability.Comment

I use both, I like vista betterCarbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
