The 2nd looks good. I get a feeling that the darker shade of orange comes a little too close to the word "more" though

that's less of a choice than we had for president. it's the same logo, you need a few more examples to choose from

I like the first one. The second one would work as you mentioned if it actually looked more like a speech bubble. Looks like a towel or a panty liner at the moment.

Still prefer the first one though. What is the font?

I would prefer the second one if the bubble was a little more rounded - looks a big strange. Both are good though. Don't waste too much time on it.

First one I threw together. Only took 5 minutes, so it's surely nothing special. And as the thread states - "logo"

Okay. Just literally played with the pen tool and that came out. So maybe I'll work on that a little more.

I don't think the slogan will hold up when you shrink it down (on the site and promo material). The name is self-explanatory, so you don't NEED it, but it would be fun to see a representative icon as part of the logo to get a visual cue.

Perhaps make the 't' in critic a table-top and the "i"(s) people ... One happy one sad.

shitty idea perhaps, but you get the idea.

The first comments graphic can be used commercially.
The second beer graphic one can not, so it's just as an example to give an idea for you.

Neither of them are logos. They are logotypes. A logo is the Nike swoosh or the apple, um, apple.

Being that I had one of the largest nightclub and bar directories over 10 years ago I'd go with what an earlier poster said and say don't spend a lot of time on it. You'll need all the time you can get updating openings and closings.
