GFYers are young - baseball is a dying sport with young people. Not that many people under 40 care about baseball outside of a group of maybe 6 cities where it's still big.

well in his first two full seasons in the bigs he sucked ass as a starter with nearly a 5.00 ERA, giving up lots of hits, HRs and relatively few strikeouts. That was 2000-01.

Then all of a sudden he was unhitable for 3 years. Once they started testing for steroids, not only can he not get anyone out, he can't stay healthy.

nah - soccer is tiny in the US - there's the MSL and it's surviving but it's a small niche sport.

NFL football is the biggest thing in the US, closest thing Americans have to a dominant interest like soccer in the UK. College football is very big in areas where there are big NCAA football schools. NBA basketball, NCAA college basketball, NHL hockey, and there's NASCAR which is very big now for some reason.

Soccer will never be huge in the US no matter how many kids play the sport and I am sure that it is the most popularly played sport by people under 18.

When you look at all the names you realize that so many players were on performance enhancing drugs that it was a "level playing field".

I personally feel that pro athletes should be able to take whatever they want in order to be the best they can be.

who cares really. there are cheaters in every sport. In baseball juicing wasnt considered cheating by most of the players. Just a way of life with lots of money on the line. People kill for that type of moolah. Plus the drugs they were taking were far better for their health than if they were prescribed pretnizone by their family docter.

Yea I kinda feel like that too, but I'm not sure if it's right. People claim women should be able to do whatever they want to their body in terms of abortion, so why should athletes not be able to do whatever they want to their own body?

But remember, Major League Baseball is a business, and the players are their employees. So if MLB chooses to instill more rigorous drug-testing... then so be it... it's up to them. If the players don't like it, then they don't have to play in that league...

The reason it is not bigger news everywhere is because WE ALL EXPECTED it. These fucking cheaters should be black balled from all records and the hall of fame. Period.

as for those who said baseball is a dying sport are fucking retards. The world series is the second most watched final in all of sports.. Basketball is near the bottom. (in the USA)
