Since we (myself and my wife) are both into rock, minerals, gemstones, etc. It is pretty natural that I get her something along those lines. It almost always is jewelry and typically gemstones though I did deviate three times to get her, her pearls in white, pink, and black.
This year I have been playing sneaky sneaky and was able to finish up my first self cut set (necklace pendant, ring, ear rings) for her. They are rubies I had a fellow rock hound pick up for me on his trip to Burma. All are Pigeon blood red, both the necklace pendant and the ring stones are reasonably flawless and there are more flaws in the ear rings. I only felt safe doing emerald cuts when I was faceting them. They are all set in white gold (her personal preference as she does not like yellow gold). The settings were done by another friend of mine who custom design and casts them. I do still need to pick up a chain for the necklace though.
I was as nervous as hell working on these. I have never worked on a stone that hard before. I assisted in the Emeralds I got her for her birthday but those were almost a walk in the park in comparison. If your curious those stones came from North Carolina.
I am sure she will love and appreciate them. Now I just hope she buys me some new saw blades and belts for my sanders

I'm posting what I got for my boyfriend, although this is a good idea for any girls who dig Heroes. There's a guy who is doing commissioned paintings of the Heroes paintings (and actually does them well) via SA Mart, so I bought the BF replicas of his favorite painting and my favorite painting, it's sort of a housewarming gift too as we just moved into a new apartment.
He's getting other things as well, but that's what I'm most excited about. He LOVES Heroes and has often mentioned how cool it'd be to have one of the paintings... so yeah.Give me money & buy my links here, damn it!Comment

Skirt and Blouse from Victoria's Secret (she has a wish list account- making it easy)
Noise Cancellation headphones - again, she never buys electronics for herself, and would use them, I think (got them at a sweet price).
A piece of jewelry as of yet to be determined... something with aquamarine and garnet.

If your girlfriend is someone who is materialistic then give her the best thing that you can give. I cant give any suggestion sense I don' t know the personality of your girl. I think if she really loves you, anything simple will do. Good luck with your relationship.Comment
