The fact it is that mfc, chaturbate etc. got custom software and it is not for sure to 3rd parties. In particular mfc code is by one of the owners, Aaron M. of metapeer, not even from a third party dev. Our free cam site it is also 100% custom even if there's a piece for user management etc. I took from Konrad's mechbunny as a start.
So there's no cam sites of that kind who are really based on a software that is available to anyone, that's all in-house.
However there are some smaller/non english sites where developer may be available. I not use them but friends of mine (studios etc.) setup with them ok.

Company is eyepartner.com it is a florida+romania one, I used their services for a site of mine; someone (here in GFY too) refer them as too expensive, they're not cheap indeed, but they got many developers, a ticket system with web form, QA people who do tests, I mean you're not dealking with wizard kid in bedroom so guess the cost - not good for who wants to launch a cam site with a thousand dollars total.
An advice don't hire indians in elance, odesk or such, they all say they made cam sites before, ask you pay something, then give you a fake template you click buttons and nothing happens, that's their final job

A tip rain is when users tip the girl in a fast and continious way so the chat becomes full with tip messages. This is highly appreciated by the girls, and impresses other guys, even if most of the times this is just many $1's and $2's so the total given is not so big. A tip war is also spectacular. Users battle eachother to get in the top of the user list and get the crown! The user that tipped the most in the last 3 hours gets to be on the number 1 position with the crown, and he may be called the king. Some of the other users will try to tip more to conquer the #1 place and crown. As users cant see how much the other tips (can be $1 dollar or $100, only the girl see difference), there many be several tip shoots to do before to advance a position in the list. Some users are known to be big tip warriors, who never want end as n.2 position, so be careful who you tip war with, some are too wealthy and you can not beat
A tip bomb is when a user tips a large amount at once like 50 or 100 dollars, or even $500, why not. Some time tip bombs are launched in tip war, to keep a big advantage. But guys send tip bombs mostly on surprise, outside wars or rains, just to see the reaction of the girl. A tip bombed girl normally will wide open eyes and mouth in a shocked fashion, or start to scream or laugh or cry or any else crazy thing, and guys all may start to ask her how much that tip it was, since she only sees the total. Tip bombs are also useful to create legends, such as it is heard that a certain top user (also called whale in this case) tipped $1000 or $5000 or a million dollar.Comment

I wasn't using any jargon. The truth is, when one or 2 people tip, others feel left out so they begin to tip too. Sometimes when the amount of the tip is not displayed users tend to over compensate, that's all. What's with the "lol"? Call it Tip Rain, war or bomb. Customers like to tip, period, mostly for nothing more than good conversation and a pretty smile. I'm sure you've tipped a waitress for smiling at you - the same thing happens online.
We're getting there. We are changing our demo site around to be more mobile friendly and will offer that template soon (thanks to Zuzana Designs for their help!). Our product is good, but so are the competing products. Each of us do things in our own way, and offer various products and services that are unique, or are better or worse, or are more or less than the other services. We never trash our competitors, but we read their websites to see what kinds of services and features they offer to make sure we always remain as competitive as possible. Someone posted their link too in a list without specify anything, so I been more informative. A con artist well, some their customers are up and ok, if a complete con artist no any customer would be left; sure he tries to sell you more than what you need, that's a sales man, need to click the "no, thanks" to all the extra offers he push.
Their custom work it is more expensive than anything one may hear of in adult webmaster world, but they clearly state it in the site, so that whoever decide to go with them can't be surprised of prices later:

3-20 hours ? Development Block Rate of $150/hour ($450 minimum for this rate to apply)
21-100 hours ? Development Block Rate of $135/hour ($2835 minimum for this rate to apply)
101-400 hours ? Development Block Rate of $115/hour ($11615 minimum for this rate to apply)
So let you want edit something requiring nearly 100 hours (not big deal for a cam site) that's $12,000 to pay in advance, before they even start to work. They're based on hour block prepay that you spend in their ticket system.
And they sort mandate your stuff be hosted with them and again it is 2 to 3 times the price of a mojohost or webair's:

But again this is written in their page in advance, woud be not a surprise you need 2 or 3 servers and this is $1500 a month hosting bill (+ bandwidth extra). That's managed it means they normally solve issues if any.
Ok there is something more, in general they don't give you the source code (they encrypt the php), so that you are locked and you have to buy hours from them for anything except a few templates, even you woud be able to edit yourself for cheap. I don't know if this changed for latest versions of their stuff but old one but that's liek this for their old stuff still online today.
Now except the specific case of this company, in general those pre-made softwares and companies are useful for who can not or does not wish to edit anything himself, such as an investor with no developers (or skill/time to direct them) who is in hurry to setup something and market it.
If the guy got time, skils, developers, he may go custom which finally it is always the best but may take 1+ years to launch then debug and updates in following years, as never a new cam script will work as intended, or will be released in time

He's a slick salesman who is 100% full of shit. It was certainly one of the strangest things i'd ever seen and came right after me and my wife flying to Miami, meeting him and his wife, discussing a lot of details/docs, hanging out etc. I am very anal about documentation, mockups etc. So there was a lot to go over. I paid him to do some custom stuff that was close to what he was already doing with muscle magazine.com and a lot of features he had that he claimed were custom programmed and I wanted to develop an ad system that had extensive custom requirements (basically something to be built from scratch).
So, for what we agreed to a cost of $15,000.00, the fucking idiot bundled up a fresh download of vbulletin (cost what? 39.00?), a couple free plugins and openx (phpadsnew at the time which is free) and asked me to select a $30.00 template and I did, thinking it was about choosing a design/look/feel as a direction - which he then implemented as a "fully custom design". It was all really weird. I mean we went over extensive documentation and a lot of php coding needed to be done and he was giving me daily progress reports - which were all 100% bullshit. He quoted something like $3,000 for the ad system alone which I wanted built, and downloaded and installed a freeware ad system that had NONE of my requirements, saying "its done! Check it out!! cool huh?" and I recognized it right away as being the default/unmodified install of PhpAdsNew and he couldn't understand why I thought he was a retard, a liar and a scammer.
Basically, it was like wanting a custom website publishing system with a built in ad management system with some very specific requirements and he installs wordpress and a free theme, a plugin for ads and then says "hey man, you $15,000 worth of work is done - i really don't see what the problem is"

You say 2004, I made a thing in 2004 with his devs, it went well honestly, but it was their core biz video chat they know how to do and ready... you asked other things like advertising servers? I never asked other than cam things from their ready package so can't say.
Since 2004 when company was Tim and few others, is 8 years ago... they're more organised, got ticket systems, QA team... I never discuss any detail with Tim, why I should? I always talked his romanian developers directly in yahoo messenger and/or tickets, I am a dev myself so little option to say or do bulshit, maybe I'm flagged as "terror" customer and be very nice to me, I don't know really.
Should ask some more people's feedback than you + me; some very old sites based on their joc it is cams4us.com , divascam.com , I see they kept 2004 design but cam girls online ok, all up. There may be more modern sites, they got a mfc-style "joc5" update, they shown me had tips et all, but I had already custom coded sites so not needed, theirs it is livecamshows.com or some look at adultwebcamsoftware.com , may ask them too.

Best livecam software is custom but its not an easy task. I worked on one for a major porn company trying to recreate MFC but after year we dumped the project. Unless you are willing to spend few hundred K I will not attempt to create one from ground up.Comment
