    101 gimpy girls!


    a quick update, i'm progressing well with my exercises and will only have to go in to PT/OT once a week starting next week. (yay!) i haven't tried to drive a car yet because all doctors in neurology and the physical therapist and occupational therapist say i should wait at least 3 weeks to make sure there isn't dormant/hidden damage that i could risk injuring more by pushing it.

    my new splint is awesome though - besides it's ability to be used as a weapon, it affords me the opportunity to do the important things in life...like opening a beer and flipping someone off! ;)

    i still cannot shower or groom myself, so i'm still taking applications for that position. ;-) you can submit them in writing here or via e-mail. :D

            actually, the new brace makes it easier for me to type quite a bit -thank god! the tension of the rubber-banded strings pull my fingers back up off the keyboard, since they naturally want to curl and make a fist right now, but don't want to release - the rubber bands pull them back so i don't leave all my fingers on the keys typing jibberish.

            sadly they tell me the thumb is the last thing to come back. i'm thinking "even apes have opposable thumbs!

                                                                    you're one of many who've recommended that particular program. i am going to look into it after the neuro team finished their study on where exactly the nerve damage occurred. if it's only going to be a few months for the regeneration then i'll probably try to hold out and use this crazy splint to help me type. if it's going to be a year or more i'll probably just buy the software. here's to healing soon for us both!
