Look, man. I love Al Gore as an environmentalist. He deserved that Pulitzer. His slide show made it easy for all the journalists, publishers, producers, ombudsmen -- all the idiots in the mainstream media -- to understand there is no real debate about climate in the scientific community. There never has been. The only scientists who think there is a debate are the small percentage of scientists who are paid by oil companies to create a debate. Gore made that clear. God bless him. God bless his wonkish head.
But as a politician he was a goddamn idiot himself. Remember his running mate in 2000? Joe I'm a Fucking Asshole Lieberman? The guy who thinks vulgarity in rock songs is what's fucking up the world. The guy who thinks Rated R movies are an atrocity. That's the guy that Gore looked at, consulted his fucked up advisors, and said, yeah, bar Bill Clinton from helping me, and put that chickenshit motherfucker Lieberman on the ballot with me.
No, Gore doesn't know good advice from bad advice when he's running. He doesn't no good politicians from bad politicians. He's a great guy. And deserves all the kudos he's getting. But he's getting more done on the sidelines than on the playing field.
