They won't run together not because they don't like each other. A Presidential VP is always suppose to make up for your weaknesses not highlight them. Both Obama and Hillary could not choose each other for the same reasons; they are both legislatures not executives and they both lack experience.
Bush choose Cheney because he is very experienced on the Federal level while Bush was experienced only on the state level. Gore choose Lieberman because Lieberman was the first to criticize Clinton over Lewinsky from the democrats. Gore's biggest weakness was that he was a Clinton shadow and he needed to separate himself. Clinton choose Gore because he was experienced on the state level as an executive while Gore was on the federal legislative level. etc...

However, nobody has more experience for this job right now than George W Bush. If he were able to run again, would you want him to have the job?
There is no job out there that can prepare someone for being president. It is a unique job unlike any other in the world. No matter how many companies, cities, or states you've been an executive of, nothing prepares you for being president. Any former president (Bill excluded right now for obvious reasons) will tell you that no matter what experience they had before they got in office, it didn't prepare them for what they faced in the oval office.
What you want is someone with the intelligence and judgement to make the right choices while in office. You want someone with the character and independence to do the right thing, not someone who is indebted to the special interests and washington lobbyists.sig too bigComment

I disagree with pretty much everything Sagi has written in this thread, except for this.
There's no way there's going to be a Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton ticket.
1st problem is too much thunder at the bottom of the ticket, too many people wishing the names were reversed.
Clinton can't pick Obama because she's saying that he doesn't have enough experience to be president.
If he doesn't have enough experience how can she justify putting him one heart beat away from the presidency?
Obama can't pick Clinton because he's the change candidate, he wants to get rid of "politics as usual". You can't do that and then pick the ultimate Washington insider to be your running mate.
Obama's best pick IMO would be Joe Biden, a foreign policy heavyweight who is respected on both sides of the aisle and who is the ultimate deal maker. Clinton's best pick would be Bill Richardson, a southwestern governor who will also give her help that she'll need with the Latino vote since she decided to change her mind on the driver's licenses for illegal immigrants issue.sig too bigComment
