* Blacks murder whites at 18 times the rate whites murder blacks.
* In the last 30 years, blacks committed 170 million violent and non-violent crimes against whites.
* Blacks under 18 are more than 12 times more likely to be arrested for murder than whites under 18.
* About 90% of the victims of interracial crimes are white.
* Blacks commit 7.5 times more violent interracial crimes than whites, although whites outnumber blacks by 7 to 1.
* On a per capita basis, blacks commit 50 times more violent crime than whites.
* Black neighborhoods are 35 times more violent than white neighborhoods.
* Of the 27 million nonviolent robberies, 31% (8.4 million) were committed by blacks against whites. Less than 2% were committed by whites against blacks.
* Of the 6.6 million violent crimes, 20% (1.3 million) were interracial.
* Of the the 1.3 million interracial violent crimes, 90% (1.17 million) are black against white.
* In the past 20 years, violent crime increased four times faster than the population.

There is no question that blacks commit a lot more crimes than other races. But the question is whether it's caused by their race, or by the fact that they are typically much poorer and have less education. Education and poverty are what causes high crime levels, not the type of melanin in their body.Comment

I think there are multiple reasons. First off, we really haven't been far removed from a time where blacks couldn't vote, own property, go to good schools, etc. They had no money, no businesses. You can't just step right into society when you control absolutely NOTHING and expect to compete with others. It's the same reason why you don't see a high percentage of women owning companies and making millions. Money and power doesn't change quickly, it take many generations. Ask yourself who is most likely to have money, Bill Gates grandkids or the poor white trailer trash grandkid.
Africa is a fucked up place, but it's fucked up in large part due to what Europe did to it. Conquering lands, imposing laws, and pillaging the lands for resources doesn't exactly help build a part of the world. Read Guns, Germs, and Steel and you'll get a fascinating look at why certain races and cultures thrived over others and were able to keep others down.
I think it's wrong for blacks and any race to sit back and blame others while doing nothing to fix the problem. But there is no denying that the reason minorities and women are poorer in this country is due in large part to what this country did to them for centuries. It's like joining a monopoly game after everyone has been playing for 2 hours and owns all the properties on the board.
But none of this is really what we are arguing. The argument is whether race is the cause of crime of poverty. Statistics show it is poverty.Comment

I agree that culture plays a huge role in it. But there is no denying that poverty doesn't play a role either. Look at the crime rates for a black male making over $100k a year and one making under $20k a year.There are more whites than blacks living below the poverty line.

I agree with some of what you say, but find certain parts of your post to sound a lot like making excuses for some reason. For one thing, I know it's rather simplistic but no less true.... on looking back through history it's found that while Anglo cultures were busy figuring out ways of forming governments and building their nations through democratic means, most of Africa was standing outside their mud huts waiting to be conquered and exploited. In fact many nations in Africa are many centuries older than the US for example, yet in all that time have accomplished very little in the way of modern progress.
All I seem to see in such countries are news clips showing them suffering overpopulation, their women squeezing out baby after baby, their dictatorships being overthrown or their so-called militaries reigning death and mayhem down on their people decade after decade.
Why is that again?
Complex problems, it seems to take countries like GB or the US to send in teams to help them reform their government and their entire infrastructure, yet that rarely if ever works either... because there's always an "uprising" where part of the population fights against progress and change.
Running in and feeding them offers no long term solution. A year later they are all still starving and crying out for help.
Thankfully in the US the black community has such things as the United Negro College fund and several other programs offered only to blacks to give them a way to make something of themselves. While I'm all for the goal I do think it's interesting that if there were to be a "United WHITE colleg fund" or a "White history month" etc there would be hell raised by the black community.
Thankfully here in Canada most tend to not focus on color that much. We have every minority under the sun just as others do, and some racial tension like anywhere else... just not to the degree as that of the US. Black, white, red, yellow, whatever, makes no difference to me as long as you're law-abiding and making something of yourself instead of out stealing other people's shit.

I'm not sure how a link showing that a large percentage of inmates dropped out of high school is supposed to back up your assertion that poverty is the reason for high black crime rates. If poverty were the reason the statistics would be skewed towards whites as there's almost twice as many whites living below the poverty line as blacks. The reason you are white and a black person is black is due to the fact that you have lower level of melanin than a black person. It is an extremely minor genetic difference.
Watson's views are highly controversial and many other experts have said they are ridiculous. Nonetheless, Watson doesn't necessarily state in his memoir that race is the reason, he states that the evolution of intelligence may be based on the geographical location of their ancestors. I don't necessarily disagree with this, but there is a big difference in saying someone whos ancestors came from Africa would be less intelligent, than someone saying that the more melanin in your body the less intelligent you are (which you are saying by stating that blacks are less intelligent than whites).Comment

Depends on where you go. Go to Japan, they'll have similar complaints about the Korean minority community there. Go to Britain, they'll have similar complains about Indians. Go to California, they'll have similar complaints about Mexicans. Go to Nothern Canada, they'll have similar complaints about Native Indians. Go to Australia, they'll have similar complaints about Aboriginals. Go to Israel, they'll have similar complaints about Sephardic Jews.
By the way, the Asian, Indian, and African immigrants tend to do better than native Americans and Canadians because they're typically the cream of the crop who emigrate to North America.Comment

If it's based on race and not other factors, why are the percent of inmates not the same for those who have high education levels? Why do low levels of education dominate our prison system? Wouldn't a black man with a post-graduate degree be just as likely to be in prison as one who dropped out of high school?
Poverty is not an excuse. I'm just stating that education and poverty play a role in crimes.Comment

IT WAS HIS THIRD STRIKE HE WAS ON PROBATION AND THIS WAS A VIOLATION OF HIS PROBATION AND THAT IS WHY HIS PUNISHMENT WAS SO SEVER.
