          I don't see where it says they blamed her for the rape, the attackers got jail time for it.

          The issue was that she was with an "unrelated man"

The 'court' ie. religious leaders reviewed it and doubled everyone's sentences including hers.

                                                                                                          They made a comment to the effect that there were other ways to dispute the sentence other than take it to the press. In other words, she made them look bad so she is now fucked (again!)

                                                                                                                  She is not being punished for breaking Saudi law she is being punished under Muslim law. Muslim law clearly states women shall never be alone in public. She was in the car without a male relative but in the presence of other men. The subsequent rape falls under the Koran's description of lewd behavior and she actually can be put to death.

                                                                                                                                          First off I'm not a fan of Muslims but I do understand the ideas behind many of their laws.

                                                                                                                                          The reason women are required to dress the way they do is so men will view them for who they are and not as sex objects. (in a strange way it makes sense)

                                                                                                                                          Women aren't allowed in public alone and not allowed in the presence of other males without a male relative. (now when a woman is raped while alone in a car with other men the "I told you so" mentality kicks in and the prevailing religious law's are enforced)

Should we have respected that belief, too?

They're cool with slaughtering innocents, but hell, we have to respect that. Right?
