Is Mitt Romney a Hypocrite? How Confident Are Republicans?
I'm an independent I have voted for both parties at one point or another. I vote for what I feel is best for my family and overall for the country. Most people will vote along party lines even if it means voting against their own interests. By the way I did not vote for Obama 4 years ago.
Not trying to bash Romney, but even republicans I have spoken to who are friends find him hard to swallow cause he says one thing but does another or changes his mind. As a republican how confident are you that will follow through?
Here are a few examples of flip flopping
- Bashes welfare but his dad was on it.
- Talks negatively about tax loop holes but he pays low taxes due to loop holes.
- Was for abortion now isn't
- Was the grandfather of Obama care and even boasted about it but now acts like it's a bad word. When he wants to take credit for where Obama Care originated he calls it Health Care Reform.
- Softened his positions on healthcare, immigration and gay rights during the Univision forum, despite those being platforms which gave him the nomination with republicans.
- The other day he made fun of Obama saying you cannot change Washington from the inside you have to do it from the outside. Actually the exact words Romney himself has used.
- He said he never supported the stimulus but in old interviews he said the president needed to do that.
- Didn't embrace policies Reagan but now he embraces his politics.
- Said humans have contributed to global warming but years later he says he doesn't believe in global warming.
- Supported unions then didn't.
- Talks about how bad China is but he himself has invested into companies in China for manufacturing purposes.
There are many more instances the list is actually really long but you get the picture.
Also what are the details of his plan? Peter Alexander asked for details in and interview, he really was vague and when pushed by Alexander on specific cuts which many believe will be the mortgage deductions etc his reply was:
"The devil is in the details, the angel is the policy"
How does that help? Is he asking republicans to vote for him without specifics and then see?
