    Affiliate Managers 2012

I know this has been discussed in the past on the various forums about what adult industry affiliate managers make as a salary. From those many different threads, it seems that the majority made $2-3k base, and the rest made up of performance incentives. If you were the program's manager (where affiliate managers reported to you) then you could make a shade more.

Given the state of the adult industry, 2012, do you believe this still holds true today?

it depends on the program and how much they are making. My manager gets bonuses, paid time off, 100% of any profits but my manager is me
Our site is coming soon. It will be one of the best ever! I know so. Brian and Penny

      Congrats.

For the sake of clarity, let's assume I am talking about affiliate managers who do not own the company themselves, and would instead work in the adult industry under traditional conditions or circumstances as it relates to the O.P..

i wonder how many times do you people need affiliate manager? i bet there is like 10 percent of affiliates like five years ago, and most of them knows how to make banners and so, so do you really need to pay for affiliate manager nowadays? if you have growing network of sites maybe, but if you have one two sites in your program, you know what i mean ... for example i wonder what are all the people at crak office doing ...

I would hire an affiliate manager today if they would work for $300 a week or so (plus a percentage of all sales they bring in plus bonuses etc) if someone (WITH SKILLS) would work for that amount. LOL I am a small program so....

Anyway, it seems to me that if you ARE an "affiliate manager" (with skills) then you'd be making MUCH more than even you questioned. Curious as to what others say and think.

As an affiliate manager for PMC I am happy to say that my base pay is much higher than the amount given in the opening post.

There is some truth to that, although I always saw my job as a way to equip affiliates with the tools they need in a timely manner to make good sales and to suggest the best tools and methods if required, rather than to assist them with getting more traffic.

Most affiliates don't need management as they know what they are doing. Either they produce or they don't.

It's a sales role. It's about cold calling, hustling, negotiating and closing deals. Affiliates don't need management. They need information and occasional assistance with special requests.

A program gets what they pay for. A good affiliate manager will only work for a program that he believes in and will take a % of sales. A great affiliate manager will get paid for life on those sales, not just the length of his employment.

Yes, there is still a need for them. If the program is still relevant in today market.

I've been so disappointed with almost every affiliate manager I have spoken to recently, that it's honestly shocking to me that these jobs still exist. Any idiot in the company can promise then never deliver, or make a decision and then change their mind the next day -- why does it take a special person for that?

Costs me money to interface with some of these tools.
