Very sad news to report Zoey Zane missing

My initial thought when I saw Zoey's story was, "Is this the first performer to get killed by someone who found her via her 2257 information?" Sadly, it's only a matter of time before some nutjob out there figures out that they can simply buy the address and personal information of a model he's obsessed with if he can find out which content dealer has her photos. Only a few other companies besides myself have model releases and IDs from me, companies I believe to be reputable for the most part, but I worry about other models who shoot with lots of random content producers who are then required to provide their personal information to every "secondary producer" who buys her set for $10. I don't think all models realize the kind of risk they put themselves at when they sign up for a shoot with some photographer to pick up a few hundred bucks. 2257 is a tragedy waiting to happen.

It's spelled out that one has to put the address of your primary place of production, and for a lot of people, our primary place of production is our homes. I personally choose to take the risk of using my UPS Store mail box and possibly get charged with a 2257 infraction, rather than putting my home address on the front page of my web site and hope no stalkers decide to drop by and rape/kill me. I think most other small/solo/amateur sites do the same- I don't know of anyone who runs an indie site that puts their home address on the 2257 page.

TampaToker: I had a good idea today while looking at some of the news stories. What about finding a lawyer to help (pro bono) to sue all the media outlets that used Zoey photos without permission, and take that money and donate it to her family? Rob from the assholes, give to her family- sounds like a fitting bit of Robin Hood justice against the bloodthirsty media who's exploited the poor girl to get ratings.

DAMN it it seems like every few years in porn there is some event traumatic happening first it was that natalie girl, and my awful experience of being held captive in a webcam studio and being beaten and raped for 2 years, I had no media coverage but the way the police were treating me I am glad the media never knew about it. and yes now a days any chance they get they blame the victim.

and the way ABC news has done stories like this in the past they are not going to make it seem like a happy ending at all.

She started shooting shortly after that and her site went live in September.
So yes, she was only shooting for a few months.
