    'Manimal' TV Series Being Turned Into Movie at Sony Pictures Animation

    Sony Pictures Animation has picked up the movie rights to Manimal, a short-lived 1983 NBC series, and is developing the project as a live action/CG hybrid film.

                                                  Phantasm kicked ass. Unfortunately, they're going to try to sell you Ryan Reynolds as Aquaman before they make a "real" movie - which would be ANY movie that does not have Ryan Reynolds in it. If that doesn't work, they'll continue trying to sell you Ryan Reynolds as any super-hero until it clicks, or until everyone kills themsleves.

                                                  Whereas they would have been better off remaking Phantasm with Ryan Reynolds. He would make a good first victim.



                                                  Phantasm 2013. Starring Ryan Reynolds as "The Guy Who Dies First". If THAT doesn't scare you, then you're already dead.

                                                  Aside: I originally saw Phantasm - and Phantasm II - in the theatre. Yeah - I'm old.
