                  You make casual comments that you have lost the majority of it in the market and taxes. That what is left is tied up in INSERT HARD UNSELLABLE ASSET HERE.

                  Even if you are making money hand over fist in the market - NEVER admit it to anyone. People get bitter, they feel entitled to let you pick up the tab. Always live below your means.

                  I have a friend who was once a multi-millionaire, the biggest mistake he ever made was to tell people about it and the loans and shit got way out of hand. He got crushed liquidating good stock positions to give loans that never got paid back.

                  Don't even tell your wife how much you have. Hide it.

                      The last guy I gave a 5-spot to approached me at the gas station.

                              People will start asking for loans and will hardly pay in-time. And if you refuse, your relationship is fucked.
