how would I increase my page ranking?I

i wanted to know how would I raise my page ranking? What "search engine" should I concentrate on?

My PR is basically sitting on 0. What steps are taken to kick it up a few notches??

Also, on the alt tag if I have already created the web page how would I edit the alt tag; specifically in dreamweaver.

One thing that will improve your page rankings is getting listed on search engines, the more sites link to you, the better your page ranking will get. Keep in mind that Google uses IP blocks to determine (partly) your page ranking, so simply adding your own site to link lists on your own servers (even if is has multiple domains) will not improve your page rankings. Try to get listed with engines and directories in different regions.

Some tips:
1. Focus your website on only a few keywords and focus on that in your text and alt tags.
2. Also start trading or buying hardlink spots with websites that have a bigger PR (that shouldn't be a problem with PR0).
3. Fill your website with content.

When someone says "Page Rank" it is typically a Google thing. Although Yahoo and MSN have their own versions of it, Google is really what you want to focus on.

The only way to increase your page rank is to get other sites of higher page rank trade links with you.

Also don't buy hard link spots because if you get caught doing it, you risk a Google ban. The rules prohibit buying and selling of links for the sole purpose of improving your page rank. I mean in the end all you have to do is ask yourself this ... Do you really want to risk pissing off Google? Is that one link really worth it? I would say not.

If someone won't list your site without money, then move on to the next guy. There are enough people out there who will trade links with you the right way. It may take way more time but in the end you are not risking getting in trouble with Google.

Well, as I know about this, link exchange is good only for the traffic, because you give away page rank to the site you link in, and the site gives away page rank in exchange for you, so basically the result will be 0. You will want to find directories and sites that will list your real link to your site (tag link <a href="your url">Your site Key Words</a>, without javascript or without the attribute ref="nofollow"). So, be careful about which sites offer this kind of services.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, but don't forget Google looks for good outbound links. If you link to Real Networks or Microsoft or Apple or the New York Times, Google is going to give you credit for it. Build your site for people. Google will follow.

note on the buying hard links, the possibility of getting penalized is pretty much 0 espicially if it's in adult. they got bigger ppl to ban in mainstream lol.

if you're starting out and exhausted all your resources for free incoming links, go ahead and rent a couple links to to get some link boost, but try to faze them out to more natural links.

remember when you're trading with other sites that has 0 PR, it does not mean it won't pass any value to you.

Not too many webmasters find any value in Page Rank anymore. It's quite strange when you try and trade with someone with Linkex, and they require you to have a higher PR.
