    people asking for donations on GFY?

    i don't care if i was about to be living on the streets, i would never ask for help on a message board. pride forbids it. some people are so quick to stick their hand out for donations.

    i'm not talking about the zoey girl, that one actually has some semblance of realness, but why here?

    seems like people think gfy is a soup kitchen sometimes. i will never donate to anything on a message board.

    what i will do, and do do is hand a bum 5 bucks when i can, or get an extra #2 at mcdonalds on my way to school when i can afford it and hand it to the guy sleeping outside on the curb.

    seems every other day theres a donation thread.

          I'd better do something useful (programming, design, etc) for people rather than asking for donations... :-)

              well, donations suck.

              But, I also see the other side of coin .. you never know in what situation that person is asking for donation. May be its worst than we think we could cop.

                          I'd like to think that I'd never ask for donations on a message board, but I can't say with 100% degree of certainty that I wouldn't. I hope to never be in circumstances that make doing so seem like an acceptable course of action.

                          As for the people that have asked for donations, I figure that unless they are just total scammers that their circumstances are bad enough that I don't need to add to their misery by telling them how I wouldn't ask for donations on a message board. Not much to gain by getting all superior to someone who is down on their luck, whether they created the circumstances or not.

                              If they are offering a service ,I don't see a problem when they are going through hard times.The trouble is people only rely on online business and they know nothing about actually working with their hands even if their life depended on it..sad really

                                  Thats what they do, like it or not, when they want a playstation game or a new xbox 360, they come up with a plan and work you till you cave in.
