You can apply for foodstamps online and in many cases don't even need a face to face interview. That's a big relief and help until you can make money again. $200 a month for a single person with no income buys more food than you can eat.
If your rent isn't too high you can receive emergency aid to cover past rent once you've been served the eviction notice.
