WICHITA, Kan. -- A missing Kansas college student believed to be the victim of foul play led a double life as an Internet porn star by the name of Zoey Zane, a friend told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

A young woman resembling 18-year-old Emily Sander appears nude in photos posted on a Zoey Zane Web site.

"She enjoyed it. She is a young teenage girl and she wanted to be in the movies and enjoyed movies. She needed the extra money," said Nikki Watson, a close friend of Sander's at Butler Community College. "Nobody in El Dorado knew besides her close friends."

Police in El Dorado, where Sander was last seen on Friday, said they are aware of the Web site. But police investigator Chad Young would not confirm whether Sander is Zoey Zane and would not say whether the site was connected in any way to her disappearance.

Sander was last seen leaving a bar in El Dorado, about 30 miles from Wichita, with a man identified by police as Israel Mireles, 24, authorities said. Sander and Mireles met that night at the bar, according to Watson.

Joe Terziu, owner of Bella Casa Italian Restaurant, where Mireles worked, told The Wichita Eagle that he saw blood on a bed and carpet in the motel room where Mireles had been staying. Police have not confirmed the account.

A nationwide manhunt was under way for Mireles and his 16-year-old girlfriend. A rental car he had been driving turned up Tuesday in Texas.

On the Web site, Sander appears in various states of undress in a cowgirl costume and a jungle-print bikini.

Watson said she did not think Sander's pornography work had anything to do with the disappearance.

"Nobody even knew about this until one of our close friends came out and told everybody because Emily did not want anybody to know," Watson said.

Her grandmother, Shirley Sander, said she had never heard the name Zoey Zane or knew of any connection her granddaughter may have had to pornography.

"What you are telling me now is things we have never been told or heard. I don't know what to say," she said. "We have never heard anything like this and truthfully I don't believe it."

On Tuesday, authorities released a photo of a white bedspread with a floral design and asked for the public's help in locating it. Police asked the public to pay attention to areas east of El Dorado along U.S. 54 to Fort Scott and along U.S. 69 to Baxter Springs.

Sanders' car was found Saturday at the bar. The rented 2007 Ford Taurus Mireles was believed to be driving was found by Texas Rangers in Vernon, Texas, about 50 miles northwest of Wichita Falls. Detectives and special agents from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation were headed there to help process the car.

The search for Sander led police Saturday to Room 21 of the El Dorado Motel, where a manager reported an altercation may have occurred. Mireles had been living at the motel, which is about 1 1/2 miles from the bar where the teen was last seen.

Emily Sander was described as 5-foot-3, with brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing low-rider blue jeans, a "Don't Mess With Texas" T-shirt and skateboard-style tennis shoes. She has multiple tattoos and body piercings.

Mireles was described 5-foot-6, weighing about 130 pounds.

A candlelight vigil was planned for Wednesday night at Eastside Park in El Dorado.

"She was very well known. She was a very loving girl," said Robin Denfer, Watson's mother. "Honestly this (the disappearance) is just not like her. If she is out there and she knows people care she is going to let us know she is OK -- someway, somehow."

Emily is a sweet, fun girl...worked several jobs and went to school, not the type to want to hook up with a loser. She could have been drugged, then ended up at the Motel and he forced himself on her or freaked out on her and she fought back.
