i dont think it is acurate

it says yesterday i got 2679 page views, and 299 uniques

If its a decent host they should be accurate.

What sort of stats package is it and what sort of site are you running?

never had problems with statcounter - quick and easy and great for tagging pages here and there to identify traffic inflow

You can try ClickTale which just came out. You can get great info on your visitors. They even record videos of each visitor's actions on your site.
