Face it, you are not happy unless you are whining about something.I was thinking about this more and I was wondering if it could be discrimination as well? Perhaps because I look young for my age (ageism) or racial discrimination (because I'm asian) so the cashier assumed that I would be meek and timid and let them get away with this?
Also, I know the cashier doesn't have a relationship with the customer in front of me, they just chose to ignore me.
Also, no, I didn't have negative body language or anything like that. My body language was neutral.
Isn't that weird if the cashier greets everyone but ignores me specifically for whatever reason?
I was reading another topic on another board about discrimination so I was reminded of this incident and I got angry again. I'm still kind of annoyed at it.
I know this is an old topic, but I was just reminded of it and getting pissed off again...Comment

the only and in my mind OBVIOUS answer is that the cashier wanted you to fuck the shit out of her but was so intimidated by the lust you caused in her, while being SIMULTANEOUSLY embarrassed by her dripping panties, that she totally froze up and couldnt speak becasue she was gibbering mentally and had lost the use of her brains language centers.
so next time you see her wink and lick your lips at her. that always works for me. especially while purchasing condoms and a large tub of butter.ICQ=360616223Comment

LOL everyone at GFY is such a hard ass even the ones in wheels.
What distinguishes these big stores from each other now days? You go to Walmart, Albertsons, Vons, Smiths, Food 4 less all grocery stores in my area.
They all offer you the same thing, with the exception of their store brand versions.
There are only a few things that differentiate them from the other stores.
Location - how easy is it to get to?
Prices - Self explanatory
Cleanliness - once again self explanatory
Service - once again self explanatory.
If you're not even considering these factors, then you're not some hard rolling bling bling wannabe, you're a mindless sheep who just takes what is doled out to him.
There are stores I don't go to because the location is just not feasible, but the prices are low enough to tempt me. I still don't go.
Then there are stores where the prices are way cheap, but the place is a dump, the restrooms untidy etc. Not going to get my business either.
Then there are stores that are immaculate, and somewhat convenient, but the prices are ridiculous.
many factors to weigh in whether or not you're going to continue shopping there, and yes service is one. So quit acting like this shit doesn't affect your choices you donks.Last edited by eroswebmaster; 11-24-2007, 12:47 PM.For rent - ICQ 127-027-910

At first, this thread was odd but a little funny. Now, after realizing how serious she is about this issue, it's odd but very sad. I cannot believe it would bother someone enough to make a thread....much less get upset over it again weeks later. And, to believe it is because you are Asian (and therefore meek) is almost (pathetically) amusing.Comment

This is why I love the stores with self-checkout machines, so I can completely avoid that whole dance of insincere pleasantries. I'm there for groceries, not to make smalltalk with random strangers. All that management-mandated banter does is slow down the line and cheapen us both. Neither of us honestly wants to hear about the others boring day, and we both know it, so who's fooling who? Store owners, I accept that your staff is capable of basic human empathy, I really don't need any halfhearted reassurance of that fact; I just need some fucking bananas, ok? It's even worse when the cashier is so dullwitted that they get into this inane babble loop with some lonely customer and now everybody behind them can't move forward until these two retards have negotiated an end to the conversation. I wonder how much time and money is actually lost over all this unnecessary "service"?

I wonder how much money is actually lost because people don't provide this "unnecessary" service.
Ever been into a Kmart? They used to be the biggest discount store in America at one time...my how they have fallen.
I remember when they decided around 97 or 98 to stop such unnecessary services. There were no longer people working in various departments at the store. My grandmother wanted to buy a shop-vac for my uncle at Christmas and they didn't have any that could be reached.
In order to get service you were supposed to go to a nearby pole and push a button, this would announce over the loud speaker that a customer needed help in that department.
We pushed that button and waited, and waited while that announcement continued to play over and over. It finally got to a point that I had to walk around the entire store more than once in order to find someone. I swear to God it took almost 30 minutes, by that time my grandmother gave up and we left to go elsewhere.
What's my point? Idiots who think that customer service shouldn't be a part of the experience are who's running these companies into the ground.
They want to cut costs and chose to cut them in an area that could only increase their profits.
As a manager for Taco Bell for 7 years, one of my jobs was to take trouble stores and turn them around. You know how I did it?
By burning through labor, and going way beyond what was necessary in customer service.
The last store I ran for them, I took from around $12K a week to over $22K a week, and was number 1 in growth for an entire year for the company.
I overstaffed and took the heat in the short run. The philosophy was, if there are more than enough staff, there will be no real customer service issues. When there was, no questions asked I gave them every cent back.
People took advantage of that in the beginning, but when the store was running optimally, they couldn't complain anymore and that shit stopped.
As the store made more and more each week, the labor came into line with the rest of the budget and it wasn't noticeable anymore.
Anyway, for those who think customer service is not something that affects your bottom line. Then you haven't managed anything other than yourself, and a few "affiliate reps" on GFY.
Go open your own grocery store, and I guarantee you, you will be having your employees serenading customers at the register if you think it will increase sales. For rent - ICQ 127-027-910

There's a huge difference between sufficient staffing vs. time-wasting bullshit. My closest bank branch is particularly bad at telling the difference. There may be a line out the door, and yet some memo from higherup has obviously mandated that every teller must engage in all this foreplay with every customer. It drives me crazy. If your employee takes twice as long to finish each task then it stands to reason you're going to need twice as many employees and/or real service will suffer. Nationally all these wasted minutes would add up to millions of hours.
