how often do people get in fight in a bar or a club ("social place") ?

i never ask questions in this manner here...

but i was provocated this evening in a bar but i managed to avoid any kind of incident luckily so there was no fight...

similar situations happened before maybe once or twice in the last ~10-15yrs but i am not agressive person and i managed also to avoid any kind of problem or physical violence.

    but i guess shit happens...

I think a lot of it has to do with what type of environment you are going out to. I rarely if ever go to clubs anymore, since there is always the drunk idiots that can't pick up a chick that needlessly start fights if someone accidentally bumps into them, steps on their foot, etc. I watched two idiots fight one time because the one idiot thought the other was staring at him. You know, the typical "What the fuck are you looking at?" drunk assholes.

After years of being a hothead I have learned that unless you are getting paid for it or absolutely have to defend yourself or your family fighting is stupid...

i just cant stand those troublemaking people in such places.

last thing i go there is to have a fight.

as i said i dont remember when it was my turn to "respond" as it was this evening but somehow i managed to keep calm and do nothing.

I was a bouncer in the late 80's at a club. Everytime they relaxed the dress code more fights broke out. When I bounced at titty bars it was very rare, guys tend to be passive. The bartenders can control that by knowing when to cut someone off, so are good some dont give a shit.

Only drunks and idiots get in bar fights. Bad shit can happen quick. Walk away or buy a round.

Bar fight etiquette... First always try to avoid the fight, but never take your eye off the guy. Play it cool, by a round, whatever. If it does come down to it you can assume that it will only go at most a minute (if it's in the bar). If that’s the case then just let it all out. The fight will probably be stopped before it can reach it's natural conclusion so the idea here is to either beat the shit out of him, or at least "look" like you did.

Of course the best is to avoid it all together. Peace is always preferable.

Too often... you mix idiots with liquor and it's inevitable.

I'm happy to stand up for myself if provoked but these days you gotta be real careful.

I don't know why people are violent, every time I see a violent person I would like to break his legs with a baseball bat and then jump on his head over an over until no one can recognize him
