I'm in this category also. I thank my mom for her good genes. She always looked really young for her age. I know a few people who are in their 30's but look 50. Hard partying, smoking, drinking, eating poorly, etc is the culprit.
My wife's grandfather is 90, but is now in a nursing home, barely able to get around on his own. His brother is 92, and still gets around on his own just fine -- and he still has a bear trap handshake.
The difference is that 90 year old retired at 50 and led a very sedentary lifestyle.
The 92 year old retired about 5 years ago, and he still keeps active with walks and golf.
