the opinions differ, but to me it is inferior to plasma. But you will have posts claiming both ways. I guess you will just have to go and see for yourself, then decide which one you like better.Comment

Hmmm, they can't really be hung on a wall. But the picture quality on a good DLP looks just as good as a plasma to me.
I bought a 1080P 71 inch DLP for $5K last year. They are probably even cheaper now. Price a plasma around that size and see if you think it is worth the difference in price. (be ready for the sticker shock)
plus, no burn in on a DLP.Comment

i liked lcd over plasma and plasma over DLP. But if you are going for massive size, there is value in getting a dlpComment

If you are going rear projection look at SXRD. Plasma and LCD are great for wall mounting but if you have space RP works.--

i hate DLP!! i have a 62" and it just isnt as great as my plasma 42".
i'll never buy DLP again.

Plasma looks a little better, but you have to be careful with "burning", and they suck up LOTS of electricity. It's noticeable on your electric bill.
I have a DLP, but I'm going to get an LCD next. My friend has one, and it looks amazing.
