No, then the population will just fall back to what we can sustain.

A big enough asteroid could surely wipe us out or the eruption of a super-volcano like the one in Yellowstone.

The world will be around for few billion more years. How long humans will be on it is the question. I'd say in the next 10,000 years or so, we're likely to see, I don't know, five or six billion die off due to environmental catastrophes, wars, famines, plagues, some combination thereof perhaps. Then there will probably be clumps of people living in the stone age, superstitious bastards worshipping the same bullshit superstitious bastards worship right now. And there's likely to be smalll tyrannical governments that keep some form of power, some form of knowledge, and who knows...after the 10,000 years passes there might be some form of enlightenment and we might get lucky and live another couple million years or so. Sharks have been around about 300 million years. Be a pity if we can't outlast a fucking fish.
