it be dead.... however if it's in a part of the basement or attic that I don't go to, or it's outside.... it's free to keep on killing all the other bugs as much as it wants. -
No thats just plain nasty squishing spiders(almost as bad as the cat one) I usualy pick them up and put them out side as we dont really have poisonous spiders over here.

I have a corner in my room that they are allowed to exist. I give them the chance to survive by moving them into that corner if I find them. The second time I meet that spider I will kill it.
It's a very interesting corner as there are, at any given moment, about 5 or 6 spiders up there, and they sometimes fight for the space.

I've watched them and I truly believe that they are quite intelligent... some species much more than others.
I always catch and release.

A man after my own heart.
Further to: the notion of "letting them be so they can continue on killing other bugs in the house".... here's a tip --- put out a few of those sticky mouse trap boards (the ones that cost like .99 cents apiece in hardware stores). Hide them in out of the way places in the basement, behind the bathroom sink, etc, and any bugs in the house that your vacuum doesn't get will be drawn to it, get stuck and die. Toss 'em and replace them every few months.Promote Wildmatch, ImLive, Sexier.com, and more!!

Depends on the size.
Thankfully, only once in my lifetime have I had a spider in my house that was big enough to move from the release method to the kill method.
Years and years ago, when I was with the manchild's father bit still pre-manchild, we lived in a house out in the country. It was a very wooded area. One Saturday, he was at work, and I was cleaning house. I moved the curtains in our bedroom aside, planning to dust out the window sill, and I freaked. There was this HUGE fucking spider in the window. I mean HUGE. Like saucer-sized huge.
There was no way I was dealing with it, and it was hours before he was due home. So I called the neighbor guy up the road. I could hear the chuckle in his voice as he agreed to come take care of it. I could tell he was thinking he was not going to let me live this down, and he was going to be a big he-man who rescued me from a spider.
That was until he got there a few minutes later and looked at the fucking thing. It's leg span was bigger than his hand. His face got pale. ~lol~ I will give him credit for getting rid of it though, it was more than I could have done.
I can't remember the name of it...it was some type of woods spider that is harmless, but freaky looking as hell.~

you see a spider, it oft leaves a mark in your memory, no? Unless it's a very little spider in which it quickly gets eaten by the gladiators in the corner.
my system fucking works. and these spiders know exactly what's up too, or if they don't get it quickly and set up a solid defense, they die before they can produce retarded arachnid offspring.
the ones that do survive get fat off the winged insects that don't know where to go when I finally shut off my laptop monitor.Vote Bill Cosby 2012Comment

spiders are beautiful creatures. I would not want to live in a house that has none. It's a bad sign. Spiders in a house means it's a healthy household. There would be none if the house was infested with germs or geopatogenic zones. Spiders for the win.Comment

i'll let them hang around...won't kill itComment

I kill them maybe 20% of the time, usually when someone asks me to. The rest of the time I leave them hanging around because they will eat bugs if there is any.
A girl once told me "Give me 8 inches and make it HURT".
So, I fucked her twice and hit her with a brick.Comment

I figure, they do what they do and take care of whatever bugs may be around, but if they slip up and let me see them, they're dead.
They all know the score, so they usually respect the rules.

Catch & Release.
Unless, of course, it's a deadly/poisonous variety... in which case I kill the thing and incinerate the carcass.
We spray the living space annually, though, with that Ortho Home Defense max stuff... so we rarely see any crawlers of any sort inside the bounds of the living space.-D.
