Why not ban some of these useless contest bot tards. Every night it the same 3 or 4 tards are bumping all the contest threads.
Since the admins are on a ban spree

I really hate those neverending contest threads.. They are nothing but basically not paying GFY for a pinned thread to stay on the damned front page. Beyond the first dozen or more posts there is never anything posted of value by anyone.

bot tards. Yes, I could live with having a few less of those around.
I like contests where actual bonified webmaster/affiliates win. Don't hate the contests, hate the bots. (cheaters)
Btw it's interesting to see which programs are in the sigs of those bots. They seem to tolerate if not outright support them.Promote Wildmatch, ImLive, Sexier.com, and more!!

Contest Rules
We all agree that too many contests are annoying and fuel post whores. So:
3. Contests can't run more than 10 days.
I've seen them run for monthsComment

Not enough of them.. Every damn night at around 3 to 4 am the entire main page is nothing but bumped contest threads. All bumped by the same 4 nicks.
I'm sure it's just a totally random thing that every night at the same time, the same 4 or 5 nicks bump all the same threads. In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.Comment

5 or 10 days would be great IMO.. really why should any contest run longer than a week?
I've yet to see any of these contests do anything for real webmasters, all they ever do is feed the trolls and give free advertisement for the contest starter. In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.Comment

And I was thinking of running a genuine contest when we launch a new site first quarter '08.
Too bad the concept has been essentially destroyed, because what I had in mind would have paid, for real, and it would have been an actual, real winner, who would have been named publicly here.
Not sure on the details of ensuring such a thing, but I had just been tossing the idea around in our office.
Probably won't do it now, because I suspect the views in this thread are fairly representative of the rest of the board.Comment

I agree, I dont know why they even have them, It's the same 4 or 5 contest whores that post in them, why not just give them the money and stop filling the board with crap, no webmasters post in them anywayComment

Contests here hit the shitter after the 2nd million post contest. There were so many prizes it was insane. Contests have been a waste ever since...except...And I was thinking of running a genuine contest when we launch a new site first quarter '08.

There was one a while back that was actually pretty innovative. The winner of the contest was the last person to post in the thread and have noone else post behind them for 12 or 24 hours or whatever it was. That one was wasn't bad. I suspect it would break the 10 day rule now. I give it a
for trying something different though.
