    I don't really read other message boards so I have to ask, is this normal?

    I don't read or post on any other forums...not just webmaster forums but any forums at all so I'm wondering if the level of hate here is normal for the web or is it unique to GFY?

    Every day I see people who registered like a week or two ago jumping into conversations just to spew hatred into the conversation.
    Ppl like Hateman and Meta Man etc.....does this sort of shit happen on message boards regularly or is it just a GFY thing?

      Usually other boards smack the newbs and fakenicks down.

      GFY is monitored by ferrets which get easily distracted.

              I had wondered about that as well. Perhaps there's just this group of hateful people who travel across the interwebs looking for places to spew their hatred, and they finally found a home at GFY.

                      There is an odd hatred virus that is a pre concieved notion before most even join. Everyone seems to think because the board if gfy you are supposed to be cruel, unhelpful, and generally a prick who repeats the same damn sentances or actions of anyone you personally feel is cool. They think that you get brownie points for owning someone like it is a sport and if you can not insult or knock someone down some you do not fit in. Hell most people that hop on a hatred bandwagon have no reason to even be posting other than they think it will allow them to fit in or seem cool.

                                  I've gotten sucked into some of the piss spewing wars here (unfortunately)...usually it's with the trolls I started this thread to ask about, and I wonder why people who have no reason to be here other than to be disruptive are allowed to be here.

                                                  One is definitely porn related, the other likes to say they are, but I really don't see it myself.

I used to post on a message board where it was mostly females discussing celebs and fashion (nothing to do with porn at all) and I think the haterade was just as bad as on gfy, seriously, except even cattier and bitchier and more snide. It was worse than gfy.

                                                                      pretty much status quo for any Internet forum or newsgroup - the interweb is fueled by hate. people able to say anything they want safely without having to look the other person in the eye or risking a punch in the face.

                                                                                      Other adult business boards are very mellow compared to here but on the other hand.They dont move as fast as gfy.GFY was much more serious when I joined,its sad but until they start losing revenue then they will change the path its going. The weekends here have been getting unbearable. A big start would be ban for life all fake nicks and the people who have them,it would cut out 50% of the bullshit also.

                                                                                              I run a few (non adult) boards, but participate in many others for mainstream, and general interest.

                                                                                              There is a lot good and bad on the ole GFY. Know nothing noobs get to come out guns blazing and attacking the elite here, as well as the DarkJedi's get to keep getting unbanned, or work from their 1,549th nick. Where on other boards you are not allowed more than one per IP and they are Nazi's on enforcement.

                                                                                              On some of the bigger mainstream boards you can't attack others (although this typically means only those who run the board, or their ass eaters or mods). For example, never go to DP and say anything about ShoeBitch. You will be banned with no warning given for 2 months.

                                                                                              However there are many many others ran more loose, and tighter than that. I know that muskiehub.com is run with an iron fist for example. Just depends on admin of these places I guess.

                                                                                                                  1st post here; I've been lurking for a couple of months and absorbing some good info and advice, filtering some useless dross, a getting a good laugh from some of the forum whores. Personally, I like to get a feel for a community before lashing out.

                                                                                                                  I help moderate a couple of adult boards both of which have flaming sections (the only real rule is no flaming staff not participating in a thread). We get trolls that come in a just spew crap at forum regulars and staff. Some have an axe to grind because they were banned for various violations. Others are just college kids home on break with exceptionally high opinions of themselves. So yeah, I'd say its normal.

Thats one of the reasons I make an extra effort not to be that way. This board has made me a lot of money, and some of it have been from people that I don't particularly care for.
