Not locals per se, but both the US and the south african swimmers train at FIU campus less than 1/2 mile from us

I thought that it was interesting to see that a lot of other countries are sending their athletes here to train. The Chinese have a few here and in Austrailia as well.

Phelps is local. I think he moved down to the city now instead of a few minutes from me. Kimmy Meissner, an old olympic figure skater is an old friends sister.

Not that it matters though.

Ryan Lochte's dad was my swimming coach for about 10 years when I was growing up. His dad is a drunk and has a thing for young teen girls. They were pretty much run out of town because of this.

About an hour from where I live is where the woman that is the woman who won gold in fencing in 2004 and 2008. She lost the bronze medal match this time around.

He did move to Canton/Fells Point but just sold that condo for a loss. Don't know where he is now.
