PacificRack is one super user friendly host! Great support, kick ass team and we never had a problem with them! We have about 2 Servers there, a shitload of IP´s and traffic and everything works like a charm for us!

no, at this pricing the servers are not managed. these are expensive machines, with good high end specs, are very low prices. We can't give the farm away, we are here to stay so proper margins need to be maintained to ensure long term quality.

You can add reactive management for $29/month... however you can also add a control panel which normally negates the need for management as you can do everything on your own.

DirectAdmin: $5/month

BTW guys, you dont have to get management to get help with installing scripts, Apache etc...

If the hdd crash on my server christmas day 03:00 and i notice it right away. When will the server be back up with backups done (if i choose to have backup) and running if i have 2gb of backups?

mn, we would notice it as well, we monitor all servers for ping 24x7.

we are on-site 24x7, so your server would be backup within my estimate of 2 hours. the tech would investigate, get a new HDD, put it in, install OS then install your control panel if there is one or begin re-installing your web software.

he would then copy over your backups and restore httpd.conf, php.ini and replace your data. this would be if you are managed.

If you are not, then he would get the machine backup and make your backups available to you from the SAN or put them on your server for you to restore them.

Normally the longest amount of time will be spent replacing the hardware, and installing a control panel if there is one, the OS install is normally done within 10 minutes or so (unless its Windows).

no one else has issues, and there is no way to guarantee excellent speed world wide, it all has to be optimized based on specific situations.

your isp could very well be routing badly to us, we can only control egress routes from our datacenter.

yup, from HOME (not from inside the dc) i even get great speeds, so its not isolated to us, it has extenuating factors contributing to your issue -- who knows where at at this point, no position to tell. and dont forget the speed test file is probably being hit by a bunch of people at the same time right now too.
