No sales today so far......

Well almost half way thru the day not a frigin sale much less a rebill. Last month or sales been pretty good for the most part with a few bad days during the last month. But the last 4 days have been horrible! But i been digging around and i am glad this is a issue that does not only effect me. Something is going to have to give here and soon

ccbill is the problem... their nazi filtering makes it impossible to get sales form some countries.. so those with a lot of foreign traffic need to worry..

in the other corner you have paycom, that applied that filtering too this year... Paycom Euro that is..

Can you guys share who is processing the sites/programs your advertising for and noticing the drops ...ccbill? paycom?Jettis?.etc? ?

Also..this is a tough week for the biz...hollidays just popped up out of nowhere...News is saying sales are sluggish..gas is over 3 bucks a gallon...The first months heating bill just came in the mail..thanksgiving next week..chsitmas in a month....all bills are higher this year than last..when the economy gets tired so do mr and miss IstillPay4porn

Shrug... I missed this thread the day it was posted, but I checked my Statsremote for 11/10 and it was a pretty damn good day for me. This month is also looking very strong, and I've had a lot of growth over the last 3 months.

Cyndalie - if youre asking me - my traffic very rarely changes - if anything it goes up a little but since the traffic I watch closely is all niche specific SE traffic - its odd when you see a huge downturn with no changes in traffic - especially since Ive graphed my traffic 10 times to tomorrow for the last 8 years

If it werent for the top notch companies I promote with their awesome rebills Id be in trouble.

But im sure some of these comanies are going to be like the other scumbags and my rebills will mysterously disappear.. Happens...

But yes, new sales are very low.

You are absolutely correct new sales are horrible. But on my end the rebills come in like clock work.

If any sponsors wanna let me know which back end they are using for affiliates and what billing processor they use it would be helpful. Im trying to put a profile together to track down what the issue is. Your company will never be mentioned. I have been working with several sponsors last 2 weeks and we are pretty much seeing the same trends on the same days. But i need more sponsors to ring in so i can get some more data to go by...... my icq is 247-742-205

... but my point is, overall it will get worse. Everyone is suffering, even the big programs. Shit, I can download full movies/pics, even entire members area and not pay. And as new surfers get online, they aren't going to pay for shit... as usual, most in the business think short term

Recently Ron of CCbill said that since they added the new GEO IP forms overall sales at ccbill was up 10%. This was very recently so I don't think they are seeing the trend. They would really be a great authority of across the board trends.

The thing about these threads is that people rarely post when they are having a great day/week/period/month, only if it's bad, so you get this skewed perspective that everything is horrible and the sky is falling.

Since I quit submitting galleries last month and focussed on my other sources of traffic my conversion ratios have gotten better and my sales increased.

Ive seen throughout history where people get too emotionally attched to their biz and go down with the ship. Nothing wrong with that I can understand. But if you are looking to get out, at least consider selling before you get to a point and cant.

will76 - agreed - and having been around the biz for 10 years Ive seen all the excuses in the world for people that cant sell shit on a stick - what is going on here though is something that started Oct 20th or so - and affects at least 3 US processors - and has caused two major programs to try to swap out their cascade order but Im thinking that it was to no avail as they just swapped to another affected processor

While I totally agree that over years and years there has been the steady drop due to the free stuff and all other regular market forces - this downturn is way off the charts (literally - since I keep big charts) - the normal trend over the years has been around a 5% drop on some traffic a year - but easily made up for by doing something else/new - this drop in October was completely different and affected all types of traffic since it was on the processors' end - and was easily a sharp 20% drop overall - although I can make up for it with other programs - it was just interesting to see that it is(or seems to be) tied to something limited to the US credit card processing market

I have to admit my CCB have been down this month as well. Traditional sales that went through them in the past seem to be flowing through my secondary, so I am still increasing sales as the cold months kick back into gear.

But these past few weeks have been some of my lowest CCB weeks I can remember.

I also agree with Will to a degree. Plenty of people cry chicken little when they are off for a day week. But if there is a trend effecting multiple people, I give it a thought.

I know for me in the summer months, my sales dip 'maybe' 10-15% (knock on wood) over the years as long as my behavior is the same.

But you have to look at it realistically as well. For example. Just as surfers are outside more, vacationing, etc. So are a lot of webmasters. So you are not hunched over your computer like you would be in the winter (i.e. you are not working as hard).

But I know for me I made conscious efforts in the past few years to make sure behavior remained the same. When it did. Sales barely dented in summer. Or if I would have a slow month on clips or DVD, I would have a kick ass month somewhere else equally things out.

But in this case, I have noticed lowest CCB's sales I can recall.

While I tend to agree with Will76, I do believe this year has been a touch different. Its not just the holidays. This is the first time in my life that gas has been this high at x-mas, and all the foreclosures going on. People are not spending like normal, because every thing cost so much. On top of that, they are all watching their tv every night wondering when we will be plunged into another war.

We have all seen a bit of a downward trend over that last 3 or 4 months, but I believe this will change somewhere near the end of Jan.

This is kind of like a rain storm. The first few hours, you stay indoors and saty dry. and if it last about 5 hours or so, you say fuck it. You run to the car and go to the movies or a friends to hang out. Because this is $$ we are talking, it will take a little longer, but you get the idea.
