I'll second that, yes.

I don't know Damian well, but we met when I moderated an Internext panel he participated in last year. The subject was the manner of copyright litigation targeting mass quantities of torrent users (initially as "John Doe" defendants) that a number of adult studios are engaging in these days, and whether such lawsuits are a good idea. I brought Damian in to help provide the "no, they aren't" side of the debate, and he did a good job. He was respectful of the other panelists, while also being relentless in defending his point of view, which is exactly what I was hoping for.

It was a good session, and both sides of the argument were well represented. Joining Damian on the "no" side was Matt Zimmerman from the Electronic Frontier Foundation, while the other side of the debate was championed by Gil Sperlein (Titan Media's lead counsel) and Jason Tucker from Private, with copious contribution coming from Marc Randazza, as well, who sat in the front row and was his usual, loquacious self.

Like a lot of people, I think Damian enjoys a lively board battle, and is quite a bit more aggressive and caustic on the boards than in person. Based on what I observed during the panel, it's clear to me that he also knows when to put that board persona on the shelf for an hour or two. ;-)
