Lets see how the democrats spin this.....

Iraq rocket, mortar fire at 21-month low!

Last month saw 369 "indirect fire" attacks ? the lowest number since February 2006. October's total was half of what it was in the same month a year ago. And it marked the third month in a row of sharply reduced insurgent activity, the military said.
Thank you to all the US Armed Forces who day in day out do something not many of us would want to do!

I heard it was because the US airdropped "X-Ray Specs" all over the cuntry and now the men can look through the Burka's on those hot desert ladies.

I love how you start the thread with "how are the democrats going to spin this"

And then you tell us that there were 369 indirect fire attacks on our troops last month, as if that were good news.

That's like saying, this time last year we had 10 tactical nukes dropped on our cities, and last month we only had 5.
          Let's break out the champagne.

Not to mention that we always find out that any pro-war statistic always turns out to be either a lie or a damned lie, or just a misleading misrepresentation.

How many times does a liar have to lie to you before you stop believing his lies?

Hey it's like Stephen Colbert said, you can't put too much stock in the truth, because the truth has a known liberal bias.

So, if LAPD managed to cut gang related crimes by 50% that wouldn't be a good thing, right?

It is ok not to believe. No harm in that. We should always question and find out the truth to the point at which we are satisfied. However, things are finally turning around in Iraq so cutting and running would not be the best choice now. I'd love to see every troop home today but the reality is that doing such would make our future less stable.

Yes, it's a damn shame that the Democrats have no other ideas or platform.

It's a sad sad time when Dems feel that the only way they can gain power is to undermine our troops and weaken our country on the world stage. Is it too far a stretch to call it treason?

It is really easy to cut crime, you stop prosecuting it. That is how most major cities say they are cutting crime.

Sure it would, but that's not a comparable scenario.

If there were no gang crime in LA, and then the LAPD showed up in gang colors and started a gang war....and then after years of this gang war that they created they managed to cut the violence in half from the previous year's benchmark...that would be a comparable scenario.

And in that case we'd be saying the same thing we're saying now...get the fuck out of there and nobody will be shooting at you.
I'm not gonna celebrate because fewer troops are dying, I'm gonna celebrate when all the troops are home and none of them are dying.

Just because you moved the goal post to the 50 yard line doesn't mean you've scored a touchdown.

The goal post has not been moved to the 50 yard line. I said we are making progress and that if we just up and leave we will not be better off than we are now.

Treason? You mean maybe like outing a U.S. spy for political reasons? Or lying to get a war started?

We're making progress on something that wouldn't need progress if we hadn't fucked it up.

If we destroy a city and then rebuild half of it are we supposed to be excited that it's only half as bad as it used to be? Or are we "America haters" who "blame America first" for pointing out that we're putting a dent in fixing something that we broke in the first place?

We shouldn't be there, period. It was a mistake to go in the first place, and it's a mistake every day that we don't leave.

                                          1. Removing Saddam was not a mistake.

                                          2. "Lying?" How is GWB supposed to have more knowledge that the CIA, Congress, and our allies? That makes no sense. Regardless, Saddam did have WMD and a massive program to hide them. Besides there were tons of reasons besides WMD to remove Saddam. Tons. Saddam's plot to assassinate a US President (Bush 41) was reason enough.

                                            1) Saddam wasn't a U.S. Spy. You know what I was referring to.
                                            2) Where are those WMD's then? You seem to be so sure that he had them, contrary to all the evidence that disputes that claim.

PS: I never said removing Saddam was a bad idea. I just don't appreciate the false pretenses and the ridiculous attempts to tie it to 9/11.

Regardless, Saddam did have WMD and a massive program to hide them. Besides there were tons of reasons besides WMD to remove Saddam. Tons. Saddam's plot to assassinate a US President (Bush 41) was reason enough.

Curve Ball is an Iraqi defector named Rafid Ahmed Alwan, who arrived at a German refugee center in 1999. To bolster his asylum case and increase his importance, he told officials he was a star chemical engineer who had been in charge of a facility at Djerf al Nadaf that was making mobile biological weapons.

60 Minutes has learned that Alwan?s university records indicate he did study chemical engineering but earned nearly all low marks, mostly 50s. Simon?s investigation also uncovered an arrest warrant for theft from the Babel television production company in Baghdad where he once worked.
WASHINGTON ? A bitter feud erupted Friday over claims by a presidential commission that top CIA officials apparently ignored warnings in late 2002 and early 2003 that an informant code-named "Curveball" ? the chief source of prewar U.S. intelligence about Iraqi germ weapons ? was unreliable.

Former CIA Director George J. Tenet and his chief deputy, John E. McLaughlin, furiously denied that they had been told not to trust Curveball, an Iraqi refugee in Germany who ultimately was proved a fraud.

But the CIA's former operations chief and one of his top lieutenants insisted in interviews that debates had raged inside the CIA about Curveball's credibility, even as then-Secretary of State Colin L. Powell vouched for the defector's claims in a crucial address to the United Nations Security Council on the eve of war.

"The fact is there was yelling and screaming about this guy," said James L. Pavitt, deputy director of operations and head of the clandestine service until he retired last summer.

"My people were saying: 'We think he's a stinker,' " Pavitt said. But CIA bioweapons analysts, he said, "were saying: 'We still think he's worthwhile.' " Pavitt said he didn't convey his own doubts to Tenet because he didn't know until after the March 2003 invasion of Iraq that Curveball was "of such import" in prewar CIA assessments provided to the president, Congress and the public.

"Later, I remember the guffaws by myself and others when we said, 'How could they have put this much emphasis on this guy? ? He wasn't worth [anything] in our minds," Pavitt said.
Truth was of no importance, just the New Century goal ...
