Just picked up my Canon 40D last week

Actually 2 weeks ago. This bad boy has tons of frikin features. Everyday, I'm discovering new things that my other camera could never do. I'm gonna have loads of fun with it when I leave for Prague on the 14th. I'll post some picks for you horn dogs while I'm over there.

Anyone else out there got their Canon 40D? I know it just came out but I'd like to hear about anyone else's experiences with it so far.

I am totally interested in your views ... I am looking to buy one with some lenses n what not..

I went to a local shop and go the feel of it... quite bigger than the XTs

my main concern is on getting the right lenses...

are the 2 in 1 zoom/macro just as good, better or worse than having two individual lenses for each purpose
?

shit like that... im pretty set on the 40d...its the lenses im not the most sure of...

the zoom/macro lens (28-135mm f3.5-5.6) is a good lens. It's great for all-around shooting, especially with a tripod. It's solidly built with low distortion, and quite honestly you can't beat the quality and versatility for a stock lens. It'll keep you entertained for some time. Here are some quick shots I whipped up with the stock lens. I'm still trying to get the hang of it so work with me:

Enron Building at Night. What's going on in there?

Twilight Colors in a Dawn Situation

Sorry no nudes yet since I've been learning about the features this unit has. We don't want the model to wait while I'm fiddling with this control or that, do we?

But my next lens is definitely going to be an L series lens, specifically the 17-40mm L lens. I think that will be great for nude stills in most situations.

Thanks for the vote of confidence everyone. Actually more stuff will be uploaded soon, we just did a shoot last week with the Panasonic HVX200. We're trying to make the leap into HD (not HDV) painless, but not having much luck. The footage promises to be really nice though once we get the right encoding parameters set.

Jeff, what's with the dillo's? What parts do you live out at? I used to live in the outskirts of Dallas on a golf course and we'd go out dillo hunting so they wouldn't destroy the greens. Is this what you are talking about?

Just curious, is this the same attorney who advised you that it was ok for you to steal other peoples content and put it on pacoporn without their consent, without 2257 documentation?

We don't upload anything to the site. Anybody can sign up and upload their own stuff. It's mostly trailers for people who want to promote their sites or their affiliate accounts. If there is any clip that shouldn't be there because of copyright we have an email address as well as a support board where people can flag the offending clip. We'll remove it promptly. If you see your stuff up there, let us know, we'll pull it ASAP.

I am kind of a newbie so clue me in please.

I have viewed about a dozen videos. On every page there is a banner for toyslove, brandibelle, and femjoy.

Please explain to this newbie exactly how the site that the videos came from, or a specific affiliate, benefits?

i am Nikon myself, hopefully will be getting the new full frame dslr coming out soon.. i usually dont go for the initial version as there are alwasy "bugs" to be worked out..

Of those dozen videos, did you see perhaps an opening screen saying something like "to see more, got to so-and-so.com"? Or did you see a url bug someone near the bottom of the video? People upload their trailers all the time. In fact sometimes we get spammers trying to flood the site with their trailers and overwhelm otheres who want to be exposed. One way or another, people will their urls somewhere in the description or video. And that's fine, otherwise they would not be motivated to upload. And I don't have time nor the desire to upload any videos, except perhaps a toyslove clip or if someone nice enough requests their video be "featured".

People WANT to upload. Maybe they like the attention, or perhaps they want to see comments. We had one guy uploads tons of arab amateur clips, then one day he pulled them all. It was a shame since they were great clips, but it was his choice and he did it effortlessly. I don't know how to satisfy you gripes, but rest assured we don't grab content and upload it.

Yeah, I hear ya. I had the same concerns, but I broke down anyway. Maybe I like being the kid with the newest shiny toy on the block.

My friend Jay-Rock is a Nikon guy too. He takes good photos too with his piece. Nikon or Canon? decisions decisions

Let me tell you about some killer features on the 40D. You've got Live View on a 3" LCD. This allows you to see what you are about to capture, including exposure, depth of field, and focusing. You can digitally zoom in up to 10x in the LCD screen. Also, you can control the camera from your laptop and view what you'll get on your screen before you take the shot. I think it's a matter fo time before all dslr will have these features, but it's nice to have them now
